    Unique paintjob, or not?

I always loved these smokey looking paint jobs cf Diamondback which had them too.

The "I'm not doing so well" thread

Speak to your diabetic nurse. Possibly they have tuned your insulin intake for a sedentary person and/or your pancreas is still producing some insulin (look up honeymoon phase for type 1). It's early days, but with care and proper monitoring you will be able to return to the activities you...

    Ruined Harden hub

Bit of wood filler and some silver paint and it'll be good as new. Drillium is one of the curses of second hand bikes and components. Were I dictator for the day, it would be against the law to sell drilled stuff. Fine if you want to take the risk yourself, but passing it onto someone else...

    Mbk

Yeah, 35€ is a great price. For reasons given above I tend to give old suspension bikes the swerve.

    Mbk

Sounds about right, possibly go another £20/30 if as it looks like it's hardly been ridden. 27motorhead is right though, MBK are a solid if unremarkable brand - and you will get something with a bit more Va Va Vroom for a similar price or a little higher.

    Mbk

Most bikes in the 90s were chromoly steel. It pretty much hit the sweet spot of being relatively easy to manufacture, while being light(ish) and so represent good value. That MBK looks like its in good condition, and if the price is right should be a good buy. You will not make your fortune...

Grisley Cross Renegade. Worth picking up?

IIRC, Grisleys were well regarded bitd if more of a niche brand and fairly rare in the UK. The only guy I knew who had one, also had a Rocky Mountain. I like the back end on that. I bet it climbs well.

    P7 advice - build direction…

I think if you are looking to recapture your youth, then you know the build you need. The others can come later once that itch is scratched.

    What is this from?

Cable clamp washer on rear mech or v-brake?

    Possible BSA Frankenstein mess.

I find it bizarre that someone would put 30-40 year old parts on a 50s frame (it's like taking a modern frame, and putting stuff from the mid to late 80s on it). Maybe the prior frame didn't fit or was damaged - and someone was being super frugal.

Gutted. Lost to the EVRI network. Orange Aluminium "O" prototype MIA

Wow! That is quite the story. Top work, @MartyP in returning it to it's rightful owner.

Kona Hei Hei 1991 2 owner bike with pedigree racing

Agreed frameset worth around £700. Obviously there's some tasty bits on it which are worth a bit more. Including the components of the original racing set up would significant additional value imo. A racing history does add value. Obviously, nothing to stop you using the recent sale as...

GT Timberline on eBay - wtf is going on with headset?

Fresh build...I can think of another F word that would better describe it. Buyer should assume rest of build is equally poor.

    chain rings no one wanted.

Sounds like they went to a good cause. Sometimes you can just be in the wrong place at the wrong time when trying to flog stuff - especially when you have large amounts of it.
