Tbf, the guy in the video says they did the same.

Kirk Magnesium. I had one of these bitd and loved it. I didn't love the dropout snapping off during a fast rocky descent though.

    Getting upright

Be a bit difficult since I don't have the frame anymore and the levers are on another bike.

    Video cam whilst cycling.

Agreed. I would get angry in my younger days and try to get everywhere as fast as possible. If Strava had been around back then, I'd have been all over it. Then I started cycling in London, and after a few close calls in the first year - I resolved to change my riding approach. On one...

    Where else to sell?

I'm sure this is a joke, but likely everyone has a story about a sadly deceased relative who left them with a huge disposal job after they passed. I intend to start winding down the hoard - and not just of bikes from the age of 55 (2 and a large bits years from now). I collected this crap, and...

    Where else to sell?

I've given away more bikes than I've ever sold. The market for 90s MTBs (and older) is ageing out, or at least ageing to the point where they are less fun to ride and peeps no longer want to collect lots of them. The interest in cycling, except around covid, has largely remained static in the UK.

so i started a bike shop. update 31/07/24

Probably better from an infection control perspective too, or it might be like this

    Getting upright

A small MTB with BMX style handlebars is surprisingly fun. I had a slightly too small Sunn Titanium, and it became a thing of joy when I eventually added BMX bars to it. It is a radical transformation though. I would not recommend a recumbent if you have steep hills. I have two and...

so i started a bike shop. update 31/07/24

You aren't giving yourself much of a buffer there, @jonnyboy666 Sorry to be that guy, but please consider a scenario where you need longer to recover. Your surgery and subsequent healing process will probably go amazingly. But on the other hand, you might feel sorer than you expect and not be...

Safe weight load for basic chromo mtb

I've ridden with some big lads from the local fire service, well over 6 foot, arms and legs like tree trunks - often pushing 20 st - and their bikes have generally been fine. Except for the guy who kept ovalising bottom brackets on Cannondales. Eventually, they just gave him a refund. I have...

Clank ding crunch - bent and dented downtubes

The worst is the handlebar induced top tube dent. Leaves you cursing yourself, but mostly the manufacturers. Some brands were very pretty vulnerable to it IIRC.

    Parcelforce Lost my Frame!

These logistics companies aren't set up for resolving problems manually like this - and nor is it worth their time. But you might get lucky. Another option might to be to find be to try and find a facebook group relating to the location where you think your frame ended up.

New retro bike BB service method

This channel is notorious for sharing dodgy hacks. I suspect they do it because they get plenty of arguments in the comments and therefore views. That said if I had a BSO, no tools and could actually remove the seat post I might consider this hack.

Help Me, I am being dumb

Brand new cassette and chain - how about the chain rings? Possibly worn? Otherwise, I would be looking at cassette tight enough or even back wheel.

I don't get why some people don't get ebikes.

No, the comparison you gave was between walking and cycling - not ebiking. Exponential is an equation that in this context perhaps suggests the more you use, the worse it gets (unless you are using the word in a hyperbolic manner). Actually, it that's generally not true of bikes or ebikes...

I don't get why some people don't get ebikes.

I guess there's a testable assumption that cycling is roughly equivalent to walking in terms of energy used. You don't say, how far you are traveling or for how long for each activity so it makes comparison difficult. All I know is that when I've cycled 100 miles in a day, I've eaten a lot more...

I don't get why some people don't get ebikes.

A lot of human activity is bad for the other flora and fauna on the planet. It is a matter of choice and degree. Is an ebike battery an environmental disaster akin to an oil spill? or a petrol engine? Or eating a couple of steaks?

I don't get why some people don't get ebikes.

We've been through the environmental impact of ebikes v bikes on this/another thread. Turns out to be nuanced and not obvious. But essentially human + more food + bike has a greater environmental impact than human + food + ebike (yes, you will on average eat more riding a normal bike because...

Hardisty Team bike..... proper tyres page 3

Excellent find. Women's MTB racing history is underappreciated so good to see this finding a home.

I don't get why some people don't get ebikes.

A week and a half after coming out of hospital after major abdominal surgery, I was riding mine. I could barely walk 200 yards, and was still getting home visits from a community nurse but I was cycling 8-10 miles on my ebike. Since the surgery, it has become a staple part of my transport. I...
