    Vintage Crankset Restoration Quandary

Thanks for the replies guys. I have several pair of tandem sets and some regular arms of the particular era (40+ years old). My goal is to restore as many "ride able" sets as possible. Along with that, tandem bike collecting does not have anywhere near the following that single bikes do. As...

    Vintage Crankset Restoration Quandary

I have a few pair of VERY rare vintage (like from the earliest days of the first mt. bikes) cranksets that I am refurbishing to sell. They are all in really good shape, most never assembled much less ridden. With some buffing "love" they will look like NOS. So here is my quandary... They are...

    Zo messenger bag

I wasn't a messenger. I got to know Eric through his dad. His father's bike shop was a customer of mine. I tried to hunt Eric down a few months ago and had no luck. I hope he is doing well!

    Zo messenger bag

That is not true! Bicycle messenger bags have been around for a very long time. I bought a similar bag from EG Bates in London in 1974.

    show your beach cruiser/clunker/chillout ride...

    Pets

I just leave the keys in the ignition... Because I taught Boo to pull the "perp" out of the truck to maim him and make sure there is no blood to stain the upholstery!

    Zo messenger bag

I've know Eric for years. He and I share the distinction of being the only 2 American kids that spent a summer working for the Taylor brothers in Stockton on Tees ( but not at the same time though). He made me a custom "Rasta" Zo bag with a secret pocket for my "hemp"! Rumor had it that...

    Cook bros cranks/ Klein

STOP! I want to save you from a lot of frustration and a little bit of money! Take your right crank arm and bolt & tighten the CBR spindle into it (yes I know it is undersized diameter). Add a few of the CBR Delrin spacers onto the spindle and push it through the BB and see how close the...

    Cook bros cranks/ Klein

I understand. You do not have to use the CBR spindle. If the flats on the Klein spindle are long enough (CBR made their cranks/ spindles to have more surface contact by having their spindle flats longer).

Cook Bros "Cruiser Style", or "Cook Bros Cruiser Style"?

Those are authentic 25th anniversary CBR Cruiser bars!

    Cook bros cranks/ Klein

Spindle not axle. The spindle in Kleins are 17 mm if I remember correctly and the CBR cranks can if on a 17mm spindle however the spindle currently in the frame is probably not long enough.

    Show us your…. Shiny parts

Go find a commercial buffer! If you can't easily find one, then find a metal plater, if they can't buff your parts then they'll know who can. Sad but true... Polished aluminum (not anodized) is soon going to get dull. The higher grade aluminum quicker and the "junk" slower. There are aviation...
