Old Skool Adverts--- Got a Favorite, Post it.

Its a nice ad and all, but even if we try and justify this as she got off to wade across an inlet, is she riding in that swimsuit.. ? Lol! agh no different times.. just like the workshop calendars.. they also where very different supercars now not a supermodel in site.. sometimes the calendar...

    Applying decals...

I used to sticker vans decades ago, this was a useful reminder, I used a lightly soaped spray bottle. I will practice with some redundant stickers on some water pipe, as ive over £100 of decals to apply to three frames I am painting. All a return to lost skills for me, painting going well...

    Mudguards....do you use them ?

I never used to have rear guards, but every mtb since around 93 had a Star Wars style crud catcher… my commuter had a crud rear, no rattles , quick to fit stupidly well made, never got them clogged.. now three bikes have both , as the rest are better wheather only ride bikes! Crud all the way...

    Orange clockwork '92 groupset conundrum.

I love that groupset, so if I don’t like it with the exage I would likely go with that, but I’ve a ‘93 with lx/xt so for now be something different and a cheap option as I have it and it owes me next to nothing to e exage kit . Lovely looking , look forward to building mine…

For Sale Controltech bar ends & Odi "John Tomac" attack grips & karma tools bundle.

I am tempted, I already bought bar ends for a project Clockwork build, but the grips look fitting for '92 ish, what size is the clamping for the bar ends.. ? i.e what inside diameter would the bars need to be? Ive got wide old saracen bars to go on it, they would save narrowing the bar if they...

Skeeter 1 's 1993 Kona Cindercone build thread.

Whatever stem you want, i.e. a tatty one you can remove the hanger and repsray.. they are for sale commonly enough where people fit hideous modern forks and modern stems etc.. if I understood correct you could easily paint in a close match colour as you don't have the original forks on the bike...

New to retro bikes, advice on sizing, upgrading etc please

I would hazard a guess around 94 for aheadset, the standard size 1 1/8 thats the majority of parts are for perhaps slightly later? Plenty of bike shop folks etc here will pick me up if im way out. The suspension question is a debatable one, and you will probably need to try them ...

New to retro bikes, advice on sizing, upgrading etc please

You ask only sensible questions, and you found everyone here.. this to me says you will be absolutely fine doing anything on retro bikes, they are not difficult to work on for anyone with a little base knowledge which it sounds like you have. I am 43 and have found my age and shape now better...

    Orange clockwork '92 groupset conundrum.

I hadn't thought about it like that, a kiddie I knew bought a c16r in green , mid nineties when they didn't sell a clockwork proper.. He decided very differently to everyone else buying new bikes with parents bigger purse.. get a really good frame and upgrade the rest when he broke it.. that...

    Orange clockwork '92 groupset conundrum.

So Orange fans.. I was going to use a similar age donor bike with full tidy exage / araya groupset for the build of my soon to be re painted '92 Orange clockwork, but from pics I can only find bikes with dx or lx upwards...? Could you buy one with exage? Should I be bothered? from what I can...

    The unicorn bike paradox

True words in another way of looking at Unicorn bikes, whilst still learning what would work for me in my teens, I worked and saved a whole year to order a new Marin Bear valley se when I was 16. Good bike, very capable I now realise a bit too comfy and neutral for what I was like at the time...

    Middleburn RS1 'decal' dimensions

Looks like dleb of middleburn to me… I like the extra curvy though doubtless fractionally heavier profile of the arm. May have to keep an eye for some for my old clockwork now!

    Middleburn RS1 'decal' dimensions

The shape of the pedal thread area is much more pronounced too.. so I guess mine are rs2 or something? No difference to me , just means my attempt to help is fruitless..! Hopefully you can offer some measurements, it looks the same but bigger i.e. tapered. It maybe you can give the detail...
