    can anyone identify this bike?

"GB Super Hood". Basically copies of the Weinmann lever hoods of the day.

    French thread pedal adaptor?

BITD, when I knew even less than I do today, I have once forced 9/16" pedals in 14mm threads. Only halfway through I realized what I was doing. Since going back wasn't really an option, I decided to finish the job and accept the consequences, whatever they'd be. The bike is still in use and...

    Campag model?

It is a nice bike (I have one) and yes, there was a frame only option, at least here in Holland. In 1990 the full bike was equipped with 1055 and its RRP was DFL 2,295. The frame's RRP was DFL 1,295. For comparison, the next model in the lineup was the RX-100-equipped Peloton Superlite, at DFL...

    old bike challenger xero

Thank you for the additional pictures. The Falck decal indicates a German market bike. And indeed, there's a whole bunch of Challenger bikes on Kleinanzeigen.de. Could it perhaps be the housebrand of a German chain store? Although the bike was clearly built to a (small-ish) budget, a CrMo main...

    old bike challenger xero

A fairly typical touring / city hybrid from the early nineties. Looks kinda nice, IMHO, with provisions for lights, mudguard and racks. Is that a Falck tubing decal on the seat tube? Fork decal says 4130 CrMo, by the looks of it. A gravel bike in all but the name. I like it.

    Which pump?

I have been using the Lezyne Pocket drive for a few years now, and I like it a lot. Better than the Road Drive I used earlier, mainly because it is even smaller. I wouldn't use it for big volume tyres, but for 28-30mm it works well enough. Comes with a clip to attach it to the bottle cage...

What have we here then? Olmo content.

SX rather than XS, methinks. Could the frame tubing be Columbus SLX? If you're up for it you could wade through the information on this site: Olmo serial numbers and indentification aids.

    Bike Size

A website that may be of interest to you is this one: Geometrygeeks Its database contains the measurements of many bikes and, with a bit of luck, it enables you to compare a bike you know and like to others. It has certainly helped me to understand why I like some bikes better than others...

Could I have help identifying this?

Difficult to see, but I believe that decal actually says "carbolite":

rBoTM RBotM August 2024 - Theme month - Racers and Race Replicas - Enter now!!!

It is. A transparent lacquer over highly polished chrome. A beautiful, but not very durable finish, as you can imagine. The lacquer tends to flake off if you look at it for too long.

rBoTM RBotM August 2024 - Theme month - Racers and Race Replicas - Enter now!!!

I found this frame languishing in the classifieds long ago, fitted with some Shimano 300 EX parts from the nineties. It was cheap and I like cromovelato, so I bought it. However, the replacement Tange fork and the lack of pantographing made me think it wasn't legit, and it ended up in the attic...

    New Project '59 Experto Crede

I have a Brooks Conqueror, which I have toured with in the somewhat distant past. Not bad, IIRC. Earlier this summer I toured for a week on a sprung Idéale 76. Nice saddle. My conclusions so far: sprung saddles do soak up the bumps better, but tend to squeak rather annoyingly in the...

    New Project '59 Experto Crede

You'll be able to give birth to twins with that width. :) On a more serious note, a B17 will probably work well enough. I never bothered measuring, but just tried a few saddles. The result being I ended up with B17's on most of my touring bikes and Professionals on my racing machines. And...
