Nice! Looks very comfortable. What did you use in the rear? A shortened 8-speed cassette?

    1980's Peugeot Premeire/Aubisque restoration

Welcome, @Jack1 ! Getting a wider, nicer tyre is a good idea. 23 is an improvement over 19mm, but if you have the space, 25 or 28 is even better. Get some nice light folding tyres. It'll be worth it. Good luck with the project!

    Venetro Spectrum

The Veneto brand was acquired by Orbea in the nineties. I'm not familiar with their sales strategy at the time, but the bikes may have been available solely though large resellers, such as El Corte Inglés or other chain stores, so you may have to look for their brochures and catalogues.

Peugeot 531. Any ideas to model please?

UK-spec 1989 Galibier, would be my guess.

    J Mortimer ???

Thank you! No clue who made it, sorry, but that is a really nice frame. I like it. A lot. My size too, by the looks of it. 😍

    J Mortimer ???

Thank you for the pictures. 👍 My first impression is that it is a very nice frame, from a small builder (serial number 108?), once owned by a J. Mortimer. The "JM72" seems to have been done by the builder (client initials and year?), whereas the "J. Mortimer" looks to have been added by...

    J Mortimer ???

Welcome! The name doesn't ring a bell, but since it might also be the client's name, some nice big pictures of the frame and details might well help identification of the builder.

    Raleigh Banana 531c

Welcome, and well done! Quite rare to see one in this nice condition.

    My bikes.

Very nice! Would be cool to match the bike's wheels and fenders, though, for a proper bespoke look. It also reminded me of this picture of the Charrel family on vacation. "What's that squeaking noise?" "That's your mother in the trailer"

Removing a stuck Mavic 610 unthreaded bottom bracket...any ideas?

Good points. I basically followed RJ's lead (see below), but I stayed with the stuff during the process. The advantage of keeping an eye on it is that you can add some crystals every now and then to keep the solution "on the boil", which sped up the process significantly, compared to RJ's. I...

Removing a stuck Mavic 610 unthreaded bottom bracket...any ideas?

+1. Cheap, easy and - most importantly - a very clean result with no damage to the threads. Stuck bar stem in a Raleigh steerer: Hanging in a drain cleaner solution (sodium hydroxide) for a couple of hours: The end result:

Make some good pictures, showing its nice condition, and you're sure to find a happy new owner. GLWS!

    Falcon Corsa

I think there are two types of potential customers for this particular bike. One is looking for something cheap that doesn't require any work, to see what it is like to ride a vintage racing bike. These are probably easiest to find. The other is someone more experienced who would mainly be...

    Falcon Corsa

Welcome, @Greevesrunner ! While it does look tidy, it is an entry level bike, with entry level parts. I don't know what the market is like in your area, but I fear your asking price may be a bit optimistic. Providing the most important measurements, i.e. seat tube and top tube lengths, will...

Reynolds 531 frame and Tange 2 forks.

BTW, there should be a date code on the steerer, consisting of a number (year) and letter (month).

Reynolds 531 frame and Tange 2 forks.

Hmmm. What make are the dropouts and fork ends? Is there a serial number? What does the underside of the bottom bracket shell look like? No cable stop on the chainstay? My first impression is that the frame has had some work done to it in the past and the forks may not be original. The mudguard...

    can anyone identify this bike?

From where I am sitting, the head badge certainly looks like a Falcon item.
