Excellent detective work, Matt. Fits with the downtube script as well.

rBoTM RBotM March 2024 - Open Month - Poll now Open!!!!!!!

I'll admit to voting for Jerper's Favorit as well. The Miami is in another league, though, and very much a worthy winner. 👍 I'm a litttle surprised PSimpson's Main d'Or didn't get any votes.

    My bikes.

That looks promising! I really like your parts selection. "Nice" is the operative word there. In terms of value for money it doesn't get any better, methinks. What bars are those? They seem to have slight rise to them.

    Real deal or fake?

Happy to read that. Bikes like this don't generally get the love they deserve, IMO. Glad this one does. :)

    Vintage Jersey advice

I looked up Cafe-Feestzaal St Lambertus in Eindhout, Belgium. This is what it looked like in 2010: Founded in 1977, it is a local pub and party centre, and was home to the St Lambertus Cycle Touring Club for a number of years.

Any clue on value or being desirable?

In that case it is most probably Japanese. :) And there's a good chance the serial number will tell you when and by whom the bike was actually made. Have a look under the bottom bracket and check your findings against this list: Asian Serial Number Guide

Any clue on value or being desirable?

KHS is an American brand. The bike itself is Taiwanese rather than Japanese, if memory serves. The Schrader valves, the reflectors and the kickstand all point towards American customers as well. Late seventies, I'd say. A nice example of a well-made lower mid-range bike in beautiful condition...

    Real deal or fake?

Exactly. I purchased a similar quality gaspipe frame on eBay France a couple of years ago. Paid good money for it, too. Built it up with nice parts and the result turned out to be a very nice randonneur.

    Real deal or fake?

Everything stated above is true, but I like it. While there isn't a business case for a true restoration, with a clean & lube and a set of decent tyres it might make for a nice bike. The French were pretty good at building cheap bikes that ride very well.

Gazelle Champion Mondial Semi Race ... my favorite Gazelle

Nice bag, and a good deal to boot. 👍 Mrs non-fixie bought me one ten years ago and she paid more than twice that, I think. Southern France, 2014:

rBoTM RBotM March 2024 - Open Month - Enter Now!!! Now!! Now!!

Bought as a frameset for the princely sum of €5. This frame was built by Miki in Japan in 1981 for Union in Holland. Recently built up as a vélo sportif, and currently undergoing shakedown tests to get all the adjustments right. Pictures made during this afternoon's test ride:

    Help identifying this crankset please

Very nice! 'Double fluted' refers to the double flutes, I presume (inside and out). The pedals are Lyotard 460D's, BTW. I love those and have them on several bikes.

I doubt that was the intended result, but if it helps him move forward, kudos to him.
