Wow, with needle bearings (at least for the lower cup, it seems), as the onZa Mongo II headset on my Mountain Cycle San Andreas and the Stronglight X15 on my Peugeot Team Line 2000.

I too have seen Cirrus with both styles of FD. And generally, the band style FD was for the early Cirrus. On mine, even with 127.5mm spindle and despite getting 47.5mm chainline, the cable is still slightly sliding against the derailleur body [1]. But the front gears are operating fine with it...

So me neither 😬.

Would be interested to know if you'll hit the same issue than me with the front derailleur [1]. Since yours is the collar band version, there's hope.

I've used V33 (water washable) and a pony hair brush (not to mark the aluminum) to strip the paint on my San Andreas frame [1].
