What can I do with this seat stay bridge?

I had to do something, the frankenhopper looked better than I expected until your eye landed on that seat stay bridge. A bit like seeing Sigourney Weaver in galaxy quest for the first time, a wow moment until you gaze upon a big old wort on the end of her chin with a couple of thick black hairs...

Metallic gold Specialized Stumpjumper 1998 nitanium. Query!

Anyone had a brushed finish Nitanium? I think they are one of the prettiest frames I’ve ever seen. Does any one know if they are raw or lacquered? The 3 Nitanium Hoppers I’ve got are all rust free so I wonder if this tubing is quite corrosion resistant? Definitely more so than the steel Konas I...

What can I do with this seat stay bridge?

I had to do something even if it’s temporary. A rivnut was too large in diameter but close so I set up the Dewalt battery lathe and shaved one down. Filed the hole just to make it round which made it look less awful. Shaped the rivnut around the stay with careful hammer blows and a bolt that...

    Specialized Rockhopper saga

Well this bike was built to be used and abused but bolting my fanciest bits on out of curiosity has thrown that idea out the window for now lol still summer riding won't hurt it and I can put winter bits on later in the year I suppose. If it didn't have that ridiculous hole in the seat stay...

    Marin knowledge sought...

Thanks for the info BOBU he did use the birth of his kids to guess the age and seemed more confident of the first half of the '90s and he probably fitted the fork but I'm not sure. The fork does have 94 cast into it but that might not be the year although it is in one of those raised circular...

Here's mine, I sometimes contemplate selling it but it rides so nice and I got a KOM on strava with it. Probably because the rims were wet and I couldn't slow down lol. Don't think ill ever sell it though, needs paint sorting but mamadirt has given me a bit of inspiration and I have got some...

    Show us your Specialized

I found them on eBay, after using Hope in sporting goods as the search then after only an hour or so found them. They were new old stock and old logo so up to 2004 ish? Could be worth contacting a Hope stockist if you need some... The quality of those M-part cable guide hose clamps is very good...
