A pile of Yeti Restorations :) FROs, ARCs, and Ultimates

Re: 1991-2 Yeti F.R.O. Restoration Part II Well the first one didn't really work out for me. It was just too big, and I didn't really enjoy riding it at all. Looked cool though. The combination of 23" top tubes on most models and the traditional a longer stem look makes Yetis an odd fit for...

    1991 Brodie Climbmax

Here's one I have had done for a while and ridden a ton during the pandemic. It was a well traveled frameset crisscrossing the atlantic at least a couple times. It came to me via trade for an equally cool smaller climbmax that might have been posted here already. Here she is in the UK as a...

1993 and 1994 Yeti ARC Builds

Here’s a couple ARCs I am working on … similar story with both, but different builds. The first one started off awesome. I was at a baseball tournament crazy early in the AM and strolling through ebay … within about 40s a ARC pops up and a scorcher of a deal. No cracks, dents, etc. BIN … BIN …...

1993 Fillet Brazed Curtlo Mountaineer - Done

Thanks! I am going to leave it as is. I love M1s ... at least the look. The forks on it are nearly identical in length and rake to a M1, at least from comparing them in the shop jig which is why I used it. The tires probably give it as much "travel" as a M1 fork would lol. The big problem I...

1993 Fillet Brazed Curtlo Mountaineer - Done

Thanks!! The saddle is original avocet and I’ve never see another one. I grabbed it off eBay several years ago and it just sat in my saddle bin. I had forgot about it and when I decided on the colour for the frame. I pulled it out when I was building and it matched perfectly. It makes the build IMO.

1993 Fillet Brazed Curtlo Mountaineer - Done

Re: Thanks guys. It's probably one of the better riding bikes I've built for my local trails. Not particularly fast with those big tires, but its sorta like a big BMX with the rise on that stem. Great on the sections that are like a long pump track and its really stable in the slow stuff. Not...

    BotM April 2020 Nominations thread

It's the wrong geometry for an Action Tec fork. Curtlo built a special frame for that.

A Tale of Two Tamaracks - East Coast Canadian Steel

Here’s something you probably haven’t seen unless you’ve seen them on my FB posts or instagram. Tamarack is a small boutique brand out of Nova Scotia Canada owned by Mark Beaver. Mark has been making frames for the last 3 decades brazing up about 200 frames, He mostly makes unreal lugged...

    BotM April 2020 Nominations thread

Re: Re: Maybe just the angle of the photo. The frame is designed for a M1 and that fork is just the right amount of suspension adjusted to work.
