    1989 Trimble Inverse 4 X Frame

Here's a 1989 Trimble Inverse 4 X Frame I picked up locally in Toronto in the winter. Pretty excited to find it. The original owner treated it very well as you can see. It was built up for him using a mix of syncros parts and XT. When I got it I briefly thought about redoing it all with higher...

1992 Grove Innovations X Frame ... Part 2 New Frame!

Re: Thought about doing another build thread, but really this is basically a transplant. The Green X frame and stem have gone down the road. I found it just a bit too small even with the reach and this came a long on fleabay for an absolute steal: It sized out perfectly so I flipped most...

1989 Merlin Mtn Titanium with Full WTB and "Rubber Fork"

Re: I have seen those embossed ones. Mines definitely titanium ... well according to the magnet. They were made for a few years. Maybe they went with the embossing after the titanium craze really kicked in. Brown grips are tricky to find. Tried a rubber pair I had, but it looked weird with the...

1989 Merlin Mtn Titanium with Full WTB and "Rubber Fork"

Re: Thanks Shamus! Lots of quality builds out there to get inspiration from :) Haha ... I saw some of those as well. Luckily the ebay seller I got my saddle from was selling a "Campy Eclectic Saddle". I do love ebay auto-correct :) Like I said ... lots of luck with this one. If I had to...

Hahaha ... it’s a great bike as well. Doug makes a great frame and the fit on that one is about as perfect as it gets for me.

Forgot all about BoTY! Or maybe just trying to forget 2020 lol. Lots of cool bikes. Went with my ol’ Moots because it was such a long, challenging, and educational build. It also got more use than the Curtlo, which was quarantined from me for large parts of the ride season.

1989 Merlin Mtn Titanium with Full WTB and "Rubber Fork"

Re: Saddle They are a fancy ti one Campy had for a bit in their catalog. There's actually an air bladder in them and you can inflate them to fit better. Usually more of a roadie saddle, but the fit is very much like a Avocet, Rolls, or Turbo.

1989 Merlin Mtn Titanium with Full WTB and "Rubber Fork"

Yeah ... I had no idea. Tried to flip them back when someone else told me and the 2.35s wouldn't fit. I have a set of 2.1 reds as well. Might try those. I had planned to use terra ones for the first few rides until I got the setup right, but they'll likely have clearance issues as well.
