    Today's Ride

Today I rode through the north part of black forest up to 1000 meters altitude. No signal, not a soul around but me, only the wind in the trees and a few birds, wonderful🤪

Dremel type rotary tools - what do you use?

I had a cheap one from a discounter that fell apart with a weak motor. Now I'm proud owner ;) of a Dremel with a battery which is from another world compared to its predecessor. I use it to cut cable outers with a disc, to trim mudguard stays, cleaning filthy parts with a brass brush, polishing...

    Today's Ride

Today I rode to my surprise right through a former monastery. Behind the church I could hear a singer preparing for the mass, impressing in that scenery Happy Easter! 🥚

Shimano replaces three low end groupsets with one new one..

I guess this is meant to be their standard e-bike groupset in the first place, so they started from scratch without caring about compatibility

What are your least favourite brands in the world of cycling?

Recently I needed a new Rucksack and realized that Lowe, one of the coolest and best money could buy in the 90s, has vanished  You can still get one but it's just a sticker on something that could be made by Lidl

New Bike Day – Salsa Vaya

Finished, so this is my companion for the next years :) Had a shorter ride today to bed in the brakes and it's perfect for me. Someday in the future new tires and a different frame bag....

New Bike Day – Salsa Vaya

Initial setup of the TRPs really easy going. It always was endless fiddling to make the bb7 work. Less lever travel and point of pressure also much better. So far 👍 Btw Anyone else using a Dremel to cut cable outers? :D No more squashed ends or sharp edges, one precise cut. I use a grinding...

New Bike Day – Salsa Vaya

So, the 140 mm adapter was right, but threads to short for those cps washers, and the caliper to close to the rotor causing brake shudder. A makeshift solution, cable routing also less than ideal – rear housing in the way when pedaling I had to decide between HY/RD and Spyre and chose the...

New Bike Day – Salsa Vaya

I’m probably the worst wrapper, this time one turn on the left side has completely gone wrong, it’s hopeless 😆 It’s all cabled up apart from adjustments, have to wait for the adapter to arrive on Monday🙄 Edit: I couldn’t leave the tape as it was and had to rewrap it. Now it’s ok by my...

New Bike Day – Salsa Vaya

Thanks again. 140 mm adapters are meant for 140 mm rear end thru bolt. Spec sheet says it's a 160 mm thru bolt fork so it should be right for 160 mm rotors. Makes sense? Caliper 10 mm closer to the fork would look right imo. Probably I will have to order one to find out, trial and error

New Bike Day – Salsa Vaya

So... it seems I've picked the wrong adapter 🤨 Sheet says 160 mm thru bolt fork and I have a 160 mm rotor. Any recommendations appreciated!
