Thanks for the kind works Ya, the HG41 may not sit on the top drawer parts pick list but I've used it on a few builds. With ugly stickers removed it looks the part and so far I can't find fault with the quality and it shifts nicely, nice Shimano is still producing 7 speed cassettes, at 250g...

Ride report: I took the Merlin out to a nearby trail which has a very steep hill climb. I always use this climb as my turn around and the descent is pretty great with some nice rolling turns after it mostly levels off at the bottom. I also got out on quite a few casual rides just tooling...

I managed to finish off the build this week and get a few different types of rides in, more on the ride later. If I had to pick a favorite from my current stable I couldn’t. This Merlin would basically tie with my brodie. It really ticks every box, I love the way it looks and the way it rides...

Proper length is right! 150mm, with the top tube at 21.5” it feels just right to me, previous owner selected. And what’s better than a Salsa Moto on a Merlin ;)? I’m antsy to get this build done with late coming decals being the delay Quite pleased with the assembled front end :D

Moto stem repaint is complete :cool: , I went with the Salsa pepper decal rather than the Salsa words, kinda like it better
