FSA gossamer triple crankset with a 2x derailleur?

Hi guys, I am eyeing an FSA gossamer crankset on ebay. It's a triple, but I would plan to use it as double, so keeping my 2x front derailleur (Claris R2000). I would imagine the chainrings are going to sit slightly more outwards than in my current setup. Do you reckon the derailleur has...

What BB do you use with Dura Ace 7400?

I ended up using a 2.5mm spacer on the drive side. Works well. The 118mm BB is actually a good fit. It could be the original dimension was for JIS spindle, while I am using an ISO one. So the 3mm from the spindle + 2.5mm from the spacer compensate for the ISO-JIS difference plus 1mm.

What BB do you use with Dura Ace 7400?

The problem seems to be that the original 112mm BB was asymmetric and 3mm longer on the DS than the NDS. At least for what I read online. And I don't seem to be able to source that in a cartridge style.

What BB do you use with Dura Ace 7400?

I'll have a look in the weekend.

What BB do you use with Dura Ace 7400?

I think it might be a 118mm, which is the length I use for my other bike. It is a bit too much, but I thought that only 107 was asymmetric, and that'd be too short.

What BB do you use with Dura Ace 7400?

Hi everyone, I have a love DuraAce 7400 double crankset that I'd like to put to good use. I had it on my "fast" bike, but I soon found out that is asymmetric, and cannot be matched to a regular cartridge BB. What do you match with this crank to make it work? I am thinking to either place a...

For Sale EG Bates touring frame - freebie

Hi guys, I am clearing out the flat and I have a touring frame to get rid of (size 51cm). It's dented in the seat tube so I'm just giving it away. Collection only from Raynes Park, London (SW20). I tried selling it on ebay for 99p or even posting it on freecycle, nobody wants it. I'll leave...

SRAM S500 brake levers - are they comfy?

You might be right. Also, putting on bar tape will help, as the back of the palm is currently sitting on the handlebars. Maybe I should do that instead of playing endlessly to fins the perfect position for the levers

SRAM S500 brake levers - are they comfy?

I never tried the Shimanos. Are you not finding the RRL too small? I now tried placing them in what looks like an awkward position, quite angled up, but that feels better. I'll go for a ride to test them out. Any excuse is good for a test ride ;)

SRAM S500 brake levers - are they comfy?

Thanks. That's very useful insight. Doesn't quite make me want to buy them... I saw that Tektro makes the RL520. Are they similar to the 540?

SRAM S500 brake levers - are they comfy?

Hi guys, I am having troubles finding aero brake levers that offer a similar level of comfort to modern brifters. On my commuter bike I have Claris levers and they are plush! On my steel bike I tried Tektro RL340 and the TRP RRL, but neither is that comfortable. It's not that they are not...

New frame, new project (touring EG Bates frame, 531)

I sort of resurrected the project, but mostly because it pained me to see the frame rusty and in a bad shape. Now it looks like this. I tried for the first time Jenolite spray paint and I like it. Easy to get a smooth finish. I chose this somewhat ungodly colour because I wanted to make a...

    Off-centre bottom bracket?? How come?

The bike I ride regularly has about 2mm offset, and I cannot feel that. But this "new" frame has over 5mm. That's quite a lot. I fear it might be noticeable.

    Off-centre bottom bracket?? How come?

I see. Well, maybe I could use a spacer to offset the BB and correct the already existing offset  Haha 😅

    Off-centre bottom bracket?? How come?

I mean that when I measure the distance here highlighted in red, it's not the same on both sides

Yes it is, or yes it isn't?

    Off-centre bottom bracket?? How come?

Hey everyone, Jut out of curiosity I checked the space between one side of the crank and the frame, and compared it to the other side. It's different. I checked all my bikes (admittedly only 3, but still) and they all have off-centre cranks. By how much, varies from bike to bike, roughly 2-3...

For Sale E. G. Bates touring frame (damaged) 51cm

Hi guys, I am selling the frame I bought a while ago thinking to build a touring bike. Got made redundant and I am in no position to spend money for a new bike for the upcoming months... It has big dent in the seat tube, neat the BB (see picture). I bought it like this, no idea how they...
