Nice story and cool bike. Stick some low-rise riser bars on it - it might become her favourite bike?

Unusual format - a 'real' hybrid - no pictures, but it sure looked like it worked for the fella

Cambridge, where I live - fella in his 60's goes past before I could get a photo - a 90's hybrid frame, 700C rear wheel as it should have, but WTF was going on with the front end?! Some sort of Rock Shox with a 26" front wheel. Both shod in slim slick tyres. The top-tube wasn't sloping...

Marin Pine Mountain in Romford - FB

I think it's an earlier one (?) - if you do FB and are near-ish it's £25 - good for some spares/ restore. Just search Marin Pine Mountain

    Frame id please

Is there a frame number on the fork steerer? Does it match that 'PS' number? I can't help but if you can find a builder with that PS and number format you'll crack it. Have a look at Classic Lightweights website - you might find a builder there to match.

    91 DB Apex

Gotta love these bikes that are just so lightly used, stored well for donkeys years and then come up mint after a bit of love and attention. Score!

Blue Lug - never heard of - but that front page alone is getting me excited about some deep-diving into their store - I want that long-sleeve T-shirt for a start

1991 Marin £15 start [pace forks, ringle stem, xlite bar ends, pace rc130 bars]

I saw it posted on the Retro MTB group page on Facebook - listed at £300 - so either Wild Wayne knows what he's got to some degree, or was aiming high on FB to see what he could achieve. I imagine it might get pulled for umpteen reasons...

Splatter Cinder Cone with A.I. description

I keep seeing this style of description - what a load of old crap! Write the description yourself - even if it's nonsense it won't be A.I. nonsense! Can't quite tell what's going on with the top of the seat tube but could be a fun summer project - recreating the overall effect...

    Tange LN-3922 BB in BSA 73 - 113(,5) a thing?

Good old SJS https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/bottom-brackets/tange-seiki-ln3922-73-mm-jis-english-square-taper-bottom-bracket-113-mm/ Or a second-hand high-quality Shimano one from Ebay. The good ones are obviously good and last. I'll probably not wear out a BB on any of my 'non-commuter'...

    Kona Explosif

Good job it's not 16/18" - they look pretty ruddy stupid underneath a 6ft 2 (not THAT tall) geezer. I agree - the price is the shame! Nice though, and a good size!
