Possible to have new steerer fitted to forks?

Thanks both for the above. It looks like whipping-out the steerer and boshing in another on MTB forks is not such an easy option. F7s are sweeeeeet-as though. They won't look too bad I suppose - the bro knows their worth - time to barter!

Possible to have new steerer fitted to forks?

I see Mercian appear to be able to do it for £95. What's the general consensus on fork construction? All the undersides of forks I can remember seeing look a bit knobbly as if the steerer is TIG'd in, rather than smooth as if they are brazed in and are then un-brazeable and the steerer can be...

Wanted 1" 'nice' fork - how big an ask is this?!

It's just my luck that I do need a frame bigger than the ubiquitous 18" meaning finding a fork is a little harder. Thank you kindly for checking Dr Dremel :) I wanted to see what peeps might have before I go down one of two routes - I might have to ask what the opinion is about getting a fork...

Wanted 1" 'nice' fork - how big an ask is this?!

One time bump if anyone has something secreted away or has seen something ;decent' for sale that I don't need to sell a kidney to afford! Thanks

Pedals making a crunchy/clicky sound yet spin smoothly. Salvageable?

Show us a pic of the end caps - look sorta MKS from here. Pop the cap off, inject some grease everywhere, pop the cap back on. What's the worst that could happen? Most things made by man/woman/child can be un-made and re-built - it's just whether you feel comfortable taking a pedal...

Wanted 1" 'nice' fork - how big an ask is this?!

Here goes...looking for a 'nice' pair of 1" (26" wheel) threaded forks please befitting for a '90/ '91 Merlin - "easy" I hear you say! Nothing crazy (and way too spendy for me) like Accutrax - something 'nice' - something butted and Spinner? Or even heaven-forbid a pair of Ritchey Logic that...

Cheers Dr Dremel, very useful! I'll see if Gil can make use of it. Further, if someone could measure height and width of the wee sucker and let me know it could be quite useful! Thanks

Actual width/ height of the 'fitted with Grease Guard Bottom Bracket' decal from a Merlin? Can someone measure pleeeease?!

I can't seem to find an image anywhere and there was next to nothing left at the base of the seat tube on my Merlin. Trying to locate to get sent off to Gil for his files/ get him to add it to the decal kit I need. Any help/ links appreciated! Thanks

Sorted 28.6 braze on clamp and 1” forks needed to finish a build

GTPulse's forks are all lovely which'll look grand on that frame - I like it a lot. If you wanted something steel though do ask as I seem to have accumulated some pretty decent steel ones which I suppose I'll never get round to finding a home for.

Nice fillet brazed orbit drop bar. Large. Cheap(ish)

I'm tempted to ask them how many metres of fencing I'd get and what brand of tape measure it is that I'd be getting too to know how high to bid arf arf

I don't think any Retrobiker would not think a 970 (or above) is a cool old ride. I'd happily have one. Nice steed

Yes Max, those exact ones with the red cap - Air-B - I hope to soon have a complete pair either to enjoy or loathe I ever bought (one of) and fitted

    RED (pink?) inner tubes??!

Only going to be fitted on the new Merlin garage-queen - a mild thrash down a towpath maybe to the pub on a Sunday (lean her up on a wall and admire her curves whilst supping an ale and eating a pack of Pipers beef crisps), then back in the shed - next time it/ she gets an airing I expect to...

    Wanted Air-B latex tube - one'll do - for a 2.1" tyre - schrader valve

It doesn't hurt to ask! I have one but the other would be nice if anyone has one please (in UK). I could get a new green Michelin one but the valve is 40mm whereas the Air-B is 30mm. It's all about the detail :)
