    Oversize alloy

Do you mean big tubes? little companies have done bigger than this :) This is branded as BH but it is the same as the Grisley Mega. Both were quite lightweight. The Mega 40 was a very nice bicycle, but it is quite difficult to find one in good shape, more than a Klein:

Monty 425 & also a brief history of Monty MTB´s

Even Motul Sticker is original 😅 Nice design and nice components and lot of memories .. Solo Bici ... that was my childhood. The founder of Monty Pere Pi is the father of Ot pi, a great trail biker, even the father won some spanish motrcycle trial championships. Not a bad currirculum. The...

1995 Marin Team Issue seatpost size?

¿Team Issue? Mine is 27.0. If you look at my seat post, you can see a blue line . I found one seat post NOS while I was cleaning all the bicycle parts and I threw away the old one. Well, it was the wrong size, so I have mechanized to 27.0. If the frame is like this, it is 27.0. That is why I...

1995 Rocky mountain Altitude build thread. Updated July 10th.

Looks good. I would go for the Shimano XT 737 instead of the XTR, because the black and silver and works quite fine. If you are going to ride, the Bober is the best one, but a moded Mag 21 could work fine too. The avid tri align of the original assembly were a nightmare. I got those in a...

Fast Rock (& roll) around 1995. Turn to Sunn with Tox ... Cough ...cough!!🤧 to a Yo Eddy and this is the end of retro and bicycle CV.

It will be for sale in wallapop, perhaps this afternoon. It is easy to sell in that platform because the shipping is allready close. You only have to go to a local mail shop and show a code. That is all. One thing I have order in the new frame is front derailleur routing. I think I will go for...

What spares to stock for future proofing my retrobike?

Wheel set, for me that is crucial and a fork serviceable. The rest you can buy (easy to buy nice quality casettes and chains, still nice tires etc etc) I have a pair of wheels for retro and a pair of wheels for modern 26" and a SID team and a Z2 , so I have all to surveive to a 26" apocalipsys 😅

What happen with me  I have made a mistake. Well, the frame has gone and parts will go out. The bicycle perform better than the Marin, but it is not even close to a ETSX or a Element from 2006-2007, and less close to the new stuff. The thing is: I have made the bicycle to ride it...

1994 Serotta Colorado ATi - and a Lot of DIY Anodizing

Ti anodizing is a bit different that aluminium anodizing. The proces is called plasma APQ, it is like a ceramic coat and it is hard ... titanium traditional anodixing is not the best for MTB parts. Nice project. Details is what we love 😊 👍

What's wrong with Isis bottom brackets?

Square was good, octalink add nothing but were killed by the much better Hollow tech that still are the best choice. Even press fit was a bad idea, lot of noises etc etc. I only had a RF Issis cranset, the Evolve, and was fine. Avoid V1 as they have told you, go for the V2 . But for me it is a...

Imlach's Sweaty Hippie Funk Collection, adventure bikes, rusty rats, cruisers and other alt bastardisations of bicyclery

Rocky mountain. Which should (can) I choose?

If you are not in a rush you can go for a dream bike. The stratos is ok for daily but the steel attitude or a more modern Blizzar is quite nice. Even a Element. I have built mine with all the time of the world and fit new parts and it is amazing, very fun bicycle in narrow paths. So not only...
