rBoTM RBotM November 2023 - Frame Month - Poll Now Up!! Vote Now!!

I thought it went long enough nobody noticed :) As this is retro frame month and while this frame was built quite late on, it is I believe in the spirit of the competition as it is steel, has a 1" steerer, steel forks and clearly specced by a retro rider. It is for all without a calendar, a...

rBoTM RBotM December 2023 - OPEN Month - all welcome - Enter Now!!!!

Welcome to RBotM December 2023 Open Month That means all are welcome, with the only exclusion each month being if the bike has won a RBotM Competition previously. Other than that as long as it's retro, it's in. Racing, touring, randonneur, frame hanging in the shed, it's all good. So in the...

    Wot happened to fat bikes

Yeah, my Pugsley is coming on for about 12 years old or so which makes it a worthwhile fad. Up until last month it had always been Singlespeed as well. What a fad 😎

    Wot happened to fat bikes

Yes Brians Pugsley has the modified red trials motorcycle guards. Very effective. I have always just run the mud shovels. To be fair they are about 10 years old, done a lot of miles in all weathers, run at least half a dozen Strathpuffer 24hours and the rear one is held together with stickers...

    Wot happened to fat bikes

Tenbikes, I do often post on MTBR though I must admit not as often as I should these last few years. I ten to hang round the Surly page and the singlespeeders due to my 1X1 and until these last 2 rides, my Pugsley. Cheers Jamie

    ** Who rides a Fat Bike? **

Global Fatbike Day once again. Thought I would share this macretro post here to show Fatbikes aren't dead for us up here in the Highlands either. We had a quiet one for us three but there was a longer, starting earlier ride out of Inverness with a few dozen riders. For timings for myself as it's...

MacFatro - Fatbike news and builds thread

Quiet old thread this one :) Well not today but yesterday was Global Fatbike Day once again. Similar to last year, Caleb joined Brian and myself for a ride down Brians locality. Brian and I on our trusty Pugsley and Caleb on his Baby Fatty. That may be it's last ride as he is rapidly outgrowing...

Fantastic Clubby, Well done. Always good to keep learning, something, anything and I don't think you are ever too old to take up something new. Jamie

Well, after it being dry for most of the weekend and with the roads looking dry, I thought I would get out for a ride on the lovely Jack Taylor Super Tourist. The forecast was for rain this evening and even though it had been really overcast and heavy since lunch it also looked like it could...

    Jack Taylor Super Tourist - 1983 built - sold 1990 -

Out again today and seen as how it hadn’t rained yesterday or this morning I thought I would be fine to take the Super Tourist for a few hours round the coast before winter closes in and the roads are too salty and too wet. For winter the Super Tourist will get tucked away and the Super Clubman...
