    My bikes.

@Guinessisgoodforyou Crikey Rob. Honestly don't get how you find these and bang them out restored at a swift pace. Good luck !

    My bikes.

Yes. This is an interesting crank-set. A nice square taper upgrade from a 3 arm cotter-pin crank whilst keeping weird obsolete fixings 😍 There was a later Nervar Star 5 arm crank which is also nice. Nice little project Rob. Colour suits you Sir. Will look good on you Sir. Interesting that...

Daniel Rebour - Illustrator. Who's your favourite cycling illustrator/Cartoonist?

 Yeah yeah ...... Few last pages say Jan 1992, so obviously much was compiled before, plus some / many / several products had been drawn previously as there was no change in the tools. Still, until someone comes forward to take other ownership and prove it we will not know. Most likely...

VAR 1992 Catalogue. Hell it even includes a thing called MTB. Or rather M.T.B. :) Just look at the drawings. They are unmistakably his - so perhaps some of the very very very last? https://tobeconline.fr/assets/catalogue_var_1992.pdf

Daniel Rebour - Illustrator. Who's your favourite cycling illustrator/Cartoonist?

Funny that. Agree that not much is out there even on the French forums about himself, but the work produced is so vast over a long period - right up to the bitter end of the French bicycle industry in the mid-80s. However I kind of dispute these dates looking in much more recent VAR catalogues...

Daniel Rebour - Illustrator. Who's your favourite cycling illustrator/Cartoonist?

He certainly was a busy man. Also well known in the motor-cycle industry too. http://zhumoriste.over-blog.com/article-daniel-rebour-moto-et-cycliste-119391325.html

The list is pretty endless who he did drawings for. I actually like the VAR catalogues. This needs to go on a T-shirt / workshop apron.

Imlach's Sweaty Hippie Funk Collection, adventure bikes, rusty rats, cruisers and other alt bastardisations of bicyclery

@Scott-S - don't know what you are talking about. All I know @Imlach posted a series of useful bicycles and the balance of stupid daft crap and junk is needed.

    Bikes and wheely bins

 There can be some fantastic ones on Ebay to help show a bike off in all it's glory. 😞 I'm disqualified around these parts. Don't have them. But I'll keep my eye out.

Lipstick on a pig? Kona Jake upgrades

😍 Very much my kind of fiddling! I'm very open still with retro narrow cut-down flat bars (520mm - 530mm) and bar ends. Like you say, so much depends on your local circumstance and so there can never be a right or wrong. The thinking I have at the moment is to pursue 26" - I note that I'm...

Lipstick on a pig? Kona Jake upgrades

To cross thread. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/sunn-cycloss-a-gravel-design-before-its-time.454933/page-3#post-3649629 It is there. There must have been some very very early fudging / engineering to mate that good old sexy STX FD to road RSX STIs. The thinking back then is right on...

Lipstick on a pig? Kona Jake upgrades

Love how you are fiddling with this. These bikes represent sometimes nothing ever finished. Ever. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/masi-modern-retro-cx-gravel-confused-build.407551/post-2997291 The above is now gone up very North in Helsinki, Finland. Where I hope it get's thrashed and run...

A nice era. Assisted wrenching when racing. Paying the fine or getting away with it. I find it all wonderful from a pro mechanics to the rider connection to keep them up there. And an evolution point of view. It's changed the game for good. The role of the mechanic is sort of introduced in...

    Is my stem straight . . .?

🤔 So far, it's looking like this: @MattiThundrrr fixes @moonlite stem alignment issue. Both physically and psychologically.

    Is my stem straight . . .?

 Once again, RB perfectly demonstrates the ability to respond to 100% of questions with a 100% solid definitive reply. I have visions of the OP taking up table tennis instead.

    Is my stem straight . . .?

Just while we are being in total 🤓 mode, in my darkroom room printing time we were faced with a problem of aligning three planes perfectly (negative stage, lens stage, and the surface where the projected image would be on the print). Saw all sorts of things involving spirit levels, round bubble...

    Is my stem straight . . .?

String? I'm not a farmer with a ball of twine you know. I don't do nor own string. When I say jig, a thing like a marble optical bench with graduations, calibrated low dispersal lasers and precision polished silver mirrors. Then lots and lots of high end clamps, set-squares, fixtures and what...
