Really digging that. Looked beyond the colour and photograph too. Plexus stays and an old compact curled up SS rear mech. 😍 😍
Going to the bathroom now to wash my mouth out with soap.
@Helmut Head - superb. Superb. Everyone happy kind of deal. Both are lovely.
If I was in your position with what I know now, I would leave all intact, clean a section of chain, pop in a chain wear indicator to help get an idea of use. A meticulous dismantle and clean and freshen up may not be...
Yes I think art is important - and always was in the bicycle industry.
That Trek above is arguably the worst example of (disgusting) commercialised art. Plus a rider name associated with a right cnut who did nothing but damage the sport. Only a moron with no sensitivity on any level could...
Really don't know Rob. In honesty if they are not cracked that's already good news. Many I see at the charity shop can appear in good condition but on closer examination cracks - the front cracking on the front mech is around the threaded inserts for the clamp, on the rear mech hairline cracks...
🤔 Kind of funny how that's faded. Not seen this before. Due to UV light and/or long exposure with grease/oil/grime?
This may help select something but I suspect it's irreversible.

Foreman of the wheel department to employee: Are those for export?
Employer to foreman: I don't know. Do you? I'm lacing what is in front of me.
Foreman to employee: Rim looks a bit bigger, so yeah export.

A drunk Brit not being on top of the date stamper and selling bikes made by drunk French is also a theory not to be put aside. 😁
The single best I have found with Pugs is the head badge reference. Tontonvelo have even disqualified the pre-war dates according to what Peugeot later published...
🤔 bit of an oddity for me there with the sales receipt in 1975.
The decals and parts totally correspond to 1980. A later warranty replacement perhaps?
What's the plan? Ditch the wheels entirely to have a better tyre and freewheel choice?
That crank set is even better then and I'm really...
Rob, noticed the head-badge is sadly missing :(
Then I went down a rabbit hole being curious if this is an export model or not and going through catalogues. Couldn't see anything in the French catalogues.
UK 1978 / 1979 Catalogue - very close to yours
Then found this in the UK is 1980 and...
Yeah, was thinking that. Damn mouse eating better than me and you talk about humane?
Next it will be having aperitives with salty snacks, bearnaise sauce on the peanut butter, a cheese platter with wine, and cognac with that chocolate.
Poor rusty Pug. A lot will actually clean-up well and the transmission is probably sound if there are no cracks in the plastic.
The wheels though will need a small army of child labour to sort out. Many little fingers make light work.
