    Dynamo light and charger insight

And a donkey load of moolah: have just been checking out the hardware needed for constant, spike free charging - whether via a smart light or a standalone, er … pack-dongle. (I’m reminded that I cycled round South Asia without a phone, lights, insurance or helmet - but have been thinking I...

    Dynamo light and charger insight

Hmmm, I have picked up on the evangelists, yet I’m also drawn to the simple fact of having light when you want it without worrying about batteries (I've got a pretty decent rechargeable set up, but even that never seems to be fully there when you need it (eg - impromptu night ride when you...

    Dynamo light and charger insight

Ah, interesting, thanks: I’ve got some learning to do on electrics. (Or is it electronics?).

    Dynamo light and charger insight

So, I’m finally putting together a Dynamo wheelset (will prolly go Shutter hub, but may dig deeper for a Son). I’m not fussed for a rear light connection (nasty wire run and modern battery Led ones are v. Good). But I do want to be able to charge a phone on the hoof as well as see in the dark...

    Roberts #120 Cyclocross - Restoration

That’s very cool. Love old cyclocross frames. (We need an RB dedicated thread/forum.) Check out Gipiemme cranks; Mafac, Impella, Tektro, Modolo brakes. And lots of tubular tyre wormholes. 😎

    Getting rid of a mouse

If he’s ignoring the PB he’s a very smart or very well fed (or both) mouse. Putting the trap in a tin was a bit of a game changer for us: stopped them stealing the bait or getting maimed from a side attack. It could help disguise the trap in your case. Sounds like he’s got them sussed. Chocolate?

    Getting rid of a mouse

Where there is an it, there is a them. Sans Cat, good quality snap traps are best: put them in an empty coffee tin or similar, so the beasties can’t get round the side. Peanut putter is the lure. (Humane catch and release traps aren’t really that humane - either they come back to your house, go...

    Raleigh Randonneur 708 1997

Interesting (and a bargain if your legs are long enough). Different to the official touring models for 89. It looks to have signature caps but no spoke holders. Did they offer touring frame sets then? The catalogue shows roady ones but not tourers.

    Today's Ride

Did a “The trees are bigger near Warter” loop. The bit that Hockney painted was crowded with trade vans working on the house, but this shot from round the corner shows how varied the leaf display is this year - lots of popping yellows. 25 miles. 480m elevation.

Ti for things … like pedal axles.

Great info on how your pedals fared and the relative environmental impact is interesting (isnt ti quite abundant but tricky to refine? ) Linky It is wonderful though, and I’ve chased useful lightening with: stems, quill bolts, bbs, seatposts, bolts and even axles. But all of those add up to...

Brooks saddles and sit bone question.

That sounds like a bit of a bargain. Try it out and then if you want to corner the market or a save a few grams you could go black Ti.

Brooks saddles and sit bone question.

true. I have a Black Swift Ti that I’m swapping for a B17: How about I send it to you, try it, if you like them, you have the option to buy it, or send it back and get a brown one?

Brooks saddles and sit bone question.

Or that your sit bones will sit nearer the edge of the saddle where it is less pliable. Only one real way to find out though.

Brooks saddles and sit bone question.

Here’s a pick of a Swift: my sit one divots appear to be about 95 mmm. The edges of these drop off pretty quickly: you might find a B17 more forgiving.
