Advice - kids bikes, specifically Isla 20

Hi all, So - my lad (now 9 but, like me, a bit on the short side) has finally outgrown his Isla CONC 16 and I'm looking to upgrade for his birthday (mid November). I'm thinking about an Isla Beinn 20 large (which from the Isla site should fit nicely) as I can't rate the quality of his current...

    I do love building wheels!

I've only every built one and found it deeply satsifying - I'm just impressed you managed to get it trued and ready to go in a couple of hours! Took me about 4 or 5 hours of fiddling over a number of nights, to try and get it sorted (although tbh my entire experience of wheel building up to that...

    Questions, questions....Zaskar related, please help!

Oh forgot to say - I'll take a pic of my 'made in america' sticker for you, if it helps. Best bet might be to give gilm a shout on here though - think he has stock Zaskar sticker sets on file, should you need that one. :) (I considered getting new ones for mine for a while!)

    Questions, questions....Zaskar related, please help!

Well if we're all sneaking pictures in... mine's a '96 and 27.0. I went down the USE route though which uses a shim and is very, very purple. (Pic is from about 3 years ago btw - has a PACE stem now and a different saddle, and looks much better for it!)

At last, one in the right size!! (Zaskar content, pic heavy)

As I understand it the difference between the Zaskar and the Zaskar LE was purely based on the kit they were delivered with (plenty of people have taken great pains to point that out to me about mine! :D) Although I think when I bought mine it was only available as a bare frame (back in '96). I...

At last, one in the right size!! (Zaskar content, pic heavy)

The distinct difference in decal styles interests me - between the black/white (which have decals much more akin to the standard blue/yellow ones I have on mine) and the ones on the OP's bike that have a very different letter styling (as well as being red). The more I think about it the more...

At last, one in the right size!! (Zaskar content, pic heavy)

I think I've seen quite a few yellow GTs (as per your links :) ) but not Zaskars - I've only really seen ball burnished or anodised Zaskars from the 90s; tended to see Panteras and so on in paint... probably just be me though, I'm no expert! :) Found one on here from way back in the same colour...

At last, one in the right size!! (Zaskar content, pic heavy)

Always love a Zaskar. Looking v. nice. :) For what it's worth I quite like the alloy stem / blue bars combination as they mirror the forks quite nicely. Equally though I guess black components all round would be good too. :) I'm with you all the way on the battle scared decals though - kept the...
