A quick update on this: All parts sourced, except for new bottom bracket and tyres. I will hopefully be building this up in the next few weeks or so once the remaining parts have arrived. The parts that I have chosen are not period correct, so there is no Deore DX, just what I thought would...

Great ride today Mart, one of the best so far! Epic mud, lots of sliding, stopping and swearing! The IFT looks great, slightly embarrassed to cop out and ride my modern bike but had a great time anyway. The next one will be retro again one way or.another! Nice job on the cleaning, I couldn't...

A 50 odd year old bike is going to have a bit of history! In my day job I restore vintage watches and there is a continual and incessant drove for 'originality', with collectors pretty much putting together watches from the parts that are considered period correct. This is done to maintain value...

Re: How could this be improved? I saw some nice mudguards in pound land the other day in a fetching red colour, I can see that colour coordination is an important element of this build, they woild match your grips perfectly. I am sure the quality of said mudguards would only serve to compliment...
