It cleans them very well indeed, but always best to get the thick off first. The ultrasonic method just breaks down the more stubborn contaminants that can't be reached. As for lubrication, I'm definitely gonna give the waxing method a try, I watched a youtube vid years ago about waxing & then...

I use an ultrasonic cleaner for all sorts of parts cleaning, using an alkaline solution in the tank with a Ph11.0/12.5 seems to be good for most parts, including aluminium. I don't use aggressive cleaning solutions as I found it made painted parts dull & aluminium doesn't clean well either...

Yes, the golden rules of Urbex are to leave the property exactly the way you found it & take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints! I've been caught a few times mainly by security firms who were usually ok once they know were photographing urban decay & not stealing all the copper...

I used to do Urbex, or urban exploring until I got too old to climb fences & squeeze through small windows! Seen some interesting stuff but never came across that place, can't believe they weren't wearing face masks with breathing all that shite in. Interesting place though surprised nones...
