To air on the cautious side most probably just decal as Competition, and I agree with you about the Lilac, so it will definitely be black, looking forward to seeing the finished bike. It will have been an interesting project and as a gardening friend of mine would say. 'I do like a bit of digging'

Latest update and my final decision reference this ‘Mystery’ frame. My speculating has gone on long enough! Since purchasing this frame in September I have as you can see from this thread been trying to establish its true identity. Why purchase a frame with no model decals in the first place...

Just wanted to say thanks to Midlife. The freewheel removal tool arrived 2 days after order on Amazon. Great service considering only three days before Christmas. Ten minutes after delivery wheel was in the vice and freewheel removed with a little grunt. Thanks again for your information. Now...

Yes I am sending the peeled off originals to H Lloyds in the New Year, after the Christmas rush has finished, not a good time to send mail just at the moment, anyway not in any rush. No full decal sets appear to be available, maybe because its a low end bike, or just that not many have lasted...
