    Here we go again!

I’m glad you double posted. Sadly I think this may be my last complete rebuild, I’m finding it more difficult doing the fiddly bits example replacing individual bearings in their cups, my short sightedness seems to be getting worse. I know I could get race bearings, but I do like to do things...

Thanks a lot for this reply. I love the expression ‘Inner Magpie’ one for me to remember for the future. I hope you didn’t run out of popcorn as you waited for the next instalment of this build, it did drag out a bit.

Looks like I’m outnumbered by the Hares this month, but who knows Aesop’s famous fable may still come true. Anyway Good luck to all the entries!

    Here we go again!

Gold, Silver and Bronze! I now have my Dream! All will be regularly ridden and all three will no doubt outlast me. Combined ages of 127 years! They have all been reborn and given that second chance to be ridden once again.

Well I’ve made my decision and decided to go with the Weinmann shorties. Here is the finished article. I personally am very happy with how it turned out.

Your wish is my command. Just a mock up of course, coming back off until I’ve made my final decision.

    Here we go again!

Hi Peachy I personally like the BR Green mudguards. I resprayed the old ones, they were in a very poor condition, it’s a pending decision at the moment my friend has also sourced me some Weinmann chrome shorties which will give me a contrasting look. They would match the Weinmann brakes and...

    Here we go again!

Hi Dutchie thanks for noting the high stem, it was placed that way only as a mock up for the photo as Peachy noted. (I should have mentioned that) I’m waiting for the front brake headset mounted cable guide which is away being rechromed before I finish the headset installation. Well spotted!

    Here we go again!

Thanks Jamie. This is a bit of a start stop build. Waiting to collect a match World Tour tyre from my mate. Odd tyres came with bike, but WT is in almost unridden condition.

    Here we go again!

Here is my choice of identity for a bike starting with none. I've made my decision one way or tother, rightly or wrongly (Some will always disagree), but once again as with my Cobra it will have a little bit of my very own unique input, after all this will be a bike that will stay in my stable...

    Here we go again!

Hi All Yes July has been a quiet month waiting for the frame to come back with its new identity, time has been passed fettling, stripping wheels and headset, replacing bearings, and sourcing parts that will add my own very special vision to this rebuild. Attached are examples of this work. Ps I...

    Here we go again!

Thanks xxnick1975 My son did come up trumps with a pristine well polished pair of Weinmann period brakes levers that he had tucked away for a rainy day...... Well it did rain today, so thats ok . I then spent the afternoon removing the freewheel (well seized and a bench vice job) then it was...

    Here we go again!

You may have noticed no photos of bars or brake levers. It came with straight bars and Weinmann stamped levers. I have got the drop bars and would like some new/old levers and Carlton hoods. Also came with I believe a quite rare tapered nose pump. (Needs a good clean!)

    Here we go again!

Thanks Midlife and Allenh. Yes Corsa was one of my two choices. I've made my decision one way or tother, rightly or wrongly. It will be brought back to how I believe it once was, but again as with my Cobra it will have a little bit of my own unique input, after all this will be a bike that will...
