good compromise I reckon, bike looks a treat, is protected for another couple decades, and you've still got the original look and even transfers in places. Top marks!

That grouppo looks incredible, such brave engineering. Even the downtube levers look so neat with the flush bolt. Totally agree with your comments on groupsets - my father demanded I rode european when I was young so ultimately campag has dominated most my bikes, but there are so many gems out...

cheers for comments - nice to have the choice of wheels I guess, but i'm inclined to think Shamals for 'bling' days only. With both hubs identical swapping them over is no hassle.

I picked up a very nice set of Cosmic pro tubulars around about christmas for Campag 8 speed cassettes - i've fitted one, tightened it up as far as it will go, but the sprockets are loose - not side to side as such, but up and down a wee bit. It is noticeable enough to rattle if i drop the rear...
