    I do this on my car, when my elbow says ouch, I stop, but I think this is ok for my sixty year old car, I mean what's the worst that can possibly happen? :D But this is different, this is Mrs T's bike...and she's watching :D

    I just realised (bit slow today) that the Shimano 600 arabesque crankset bolts are: 1) self releasing 2) 6mm The first I can cope with, all this modernism :roll: What would be the correct torque setting for such a small bolt doing such a big job?

    As most of you know I have a rare Swiss Imholz bike, for those that don't here is a pic... There are only two of these road bikes on the entire web and the other one is from 1937! Well if my bike is rare then my latest find must be rarer still... I assume they made less ladies frame bikes...

    Re: That is a head tube badge pre 1974, it would have been painted, what size is it, 51, 55, or 56mm? If it is 56 then it was enamel painted originally. But as others have said seeing the whole bike may make it easier to date it. :D

    Re: If you use the gel version you can easily wipe excess off with a cloth, this stuff isn't an acid, I usually get some on surrounding paintwork and tend to wipe it off with a damp cloth before it dries ( it takes about an hour to dry) but it has never left a residue on the painted area.
