Dilemma time, what to keep.snd what to sell from the ti collection

If it was me having to make the choice I would be keeping the DBR, mainly because I always wanted one and never got one (now have a Merlin instead). Always liked the ride of my DB Apex and have had a soft spot for them since 1992.

    Depression is just plain nasty

No problem. My personal experience is not something I broadcast however it is not something I would ever hide either and have no issue talking about. Being net-anonymous obviously helps in that regard. One thing you do learn (even though it's obvious yet often forgotten) is that depression can...

    Depression is just plain nasty

Medication has its place, as long as you are made aware of the possible side effects and more importantly you have at least one person around you who knows about them to keep an eye on you. I ended up on anti depressants in 2016. To give the abridged version I was not told (and was unaware)...

How much do you trust an old bike

Well the Scott did what it needed to do, and that was to remind me how good a hardtail could be, but the rigid forks were a bit too much for me to handle. So I took the opportunity to purchase something that BITD the day I could never afford - a Merlin Ti. Watch this space.

    How's AMP Research pedaling?

They feel their age. I had a B3/F3 and it was very pedal reactive (not to mention flexy!)

How much do you trust an old bike

Interesting reading all the replies, thanks everyone for the input. I think steel or ti is the way to go, maybe as a hardtail as a small concession to my comfort and my wrists longevity! If you are in Swinley keep an eye out for me, I'll me the one with Mint Sauce in tow....

How much do you trust an old bike

s'true this. The Scott is quite bright and the colours haven't really faded so it gets quite a bit of attention (that and the Mint Sauce jersey and Nike Super Pooh-Bahs that are still going strong). The shifting on it (XT/DX) is superb as well - something to be said for not having too many gears...

How much do you trust an old bike

Thats where I am right now - I only bought the Scott because it was too good to pass up. Never expected to really enjoy riding it, even if my (almost) 50 y/o wrists punish me afterwards.
