This is an interesting one, 1993 Haro Impulse Comp. You don’t see these every day! The 1992 Impulse Comp was a DX-equipped steel E-stay and the 1994 was a generic aluminum frame with XT, but Haro decided to make a superbike in 1993. Original kit was full M900, it’s Easton ProGram, USA made and...

Hmm… so it’s an early 1996… The S-R designates a road bike, I’ve always assumed that S stood for S-Works but SW was often used for 1996+ MTBs IIRC and all but one road M2 were S-Works models (unless this one turns out not to be). Anyone with a 1997 Allez M2 here?

Hi! What you have is an unusual 1995 S-Works M2 Road. It’s possibly an export model/color as I’ve only seen pics of them and they seem to be rare. What makes it unusual is the squarely mid-range Shimano RSX groupset, which as far as I know was original. Essentially it’s a top of the line frame...

    1992 (?) S-Works M2

Wait, there’s an unanswered question! Yes, from 1990 to 2000 the first 2 digits of the SN indicated year on aluminum and M2 Stumpjumpers, Ground Controls and S-Works. This seems to be manufacturing year and not model year, as there are some discrepancies around “crossover models” and my 1991 (as...

Nice find! That is the slightly uncommon 1994 S-Works M2 FS. The carbon Future Shock FSX is a rare bird, you should find the right boots for it! The carbon is very much real and the advantage is cracking and separating dropouts 😉 Was thinner than a regular Mag/Future Shock too so I can’t imagine...

The person who bought this from me took it to Ibis headquarters and they said it was definitely a one-off. The paint/decals are standard for the 1992 as I’ve seen another one with that color scheme.

The 1991 could have been Team Red (for the 500 Team Red models in the ad), champagne (for the 1991 Team) and magenta (for the base model 1991). Magenta ones are the most common. If going red I’d say try to find the correct decals, there should be a couple 1991 bikes in this thread for reference...

It’s a 1991 M2. It’s been repainted, the fork isn’t original and someone has replaced the downtube cable stop plate. Dropout repair is interesting. These didn’t have removable hangers, so it doesn’t seem unlikely that it would break off or strip despite the dropouts being a good 6mm thick. Nice...

Specialized’s aluminum lineup started with M2 in 1990, which was a little more special than aluminum, but they only got the material wicked light by ‘96. A lesser known fact is that the conventional A1 (as far as I know) debuted on the 1992 Deja Two tandem, a rare, even mythical bird. A1 only...

It highly depends on market. M2 Road models are notoriously stiff, but well made and light. It’s indeed a 1994 S-Works M2 Road and I’d value it at $350-400 USD with that build kit. Good luck with sale! The Roads are not very common.

Holy one-off! 1996 seems to be the prime custom and unknown color year. It is a pre-“taillift” 1996 as it has the older style dropouts with squared off edges. I feel like the top tube decal was there at some point. The hourglass bridge, top tube gusset and decal placement is consistent with a...

    There’s an identical silver anodized 1996 S-Works M2 frame on eBay right now, so mine is no longer a one-off — it’s a two-off 😉 Still don’t know the story behind these…...

Always loved the Gulf ones. Didn’t know the 2000 serials started with 2K, that’s cool!

Appears to be a 1992. SN 2110. SunTour dropouts. Straight arm HJ. Full DX group minus STI’s (XT), True Temper T2 bars, Ritchey Vantage Comp rims. 1 1/4” headtube for the fork — probably a one-off frame.
