    1950 - Holdsworth Cyclone-De-Luxe

For spokes I've used Spokes From Ryan and SpaCycles. The advantage of Spokes From Ryan is they will do any length 210 - 310. https://www.spokesfromryan.com/product-category/spokes/?filter_spoketype=double-butted,j-bend https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m20b67s156p3841/SAPIM-Race-Silver-Spokes Edit...

    1950 - Holdsworth Cyclone-De-Luxe

I completely restored it last year: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/1278777-1961-holdsworth-cyclone-build.html and I've put around 1400 miles on it since. Edit: It now has Corsa Control 28mm tubular with sidewalls and looks even better. Since it didn't have original paint I mixed my...

    1950 - Holdsworth Cyclone-De-Luxe

Cyclone de Luxe is 1948 - 1951: https://nkilgariff.com/holdsworth-cyclone-de-luxe/ That link also mentions "Holdsworth lugged stem to compliment the ornate frame lugs" on a 1950 example. Edit: And what are those hubs ? I've got some Nuovo Tipo large flange in the post for a 61 Cyclone - very...

What's your Holy Grail among British frame builders?

I live in Putney and have done for over 30 years. Unfortunately I didn't cycle for much of that time, but back in 1983 when I lived in Acton I bought a new Holdsworth Avanti (1982 model so 531) without knowing anything about 'real' bicyles. A 'friend' broke it 10 years later :( and it was my...

    New Project '59 Experto Crede

I'm running a SunTour New Winner Ultra 6 13-15-17-19-24-32 freewheel in 121 OLD - 1961 Holdsworth Cyclone. 13-32 is the max range you can get in standard New Winner cogs, although a SunTour Perfect 38 cog will fit apparently. I had to buy a couple of cheap freewheels off Ebay to get all the...

    Fitting bar tape

Good to know Newbaums is worth avoiding. I did some research on cotton tape a while back and only found these three: Newbaums: 10' long x 3/4" (19mm) width Velox Tressorex: 2.5m long (8.2') x 20mm width Velox Tressostar 90: 2.6m long x 20mm width Americans seem to like Newbaums, I couldn't...

    New Project '59 Experto Crede

Hmm, I didn't know old bars could have metal issues, I bought a GB Tourmalet for my Cyclone and like it a lot. I'll just have to be careful with it. GB Toumalet is the same size/shape as a 1982 Holdsworth Avanti - my other bike. I got a free GB Maes + GB Stem with my Cyclone, but couldn't get...
