For Sale Rare Raleigh Racing Bike SBDU Vintage 1970s, 54cm, red, very good condition

I know what you mean...you do look at it and think that's a shame...but it's at a better price this time and it's a 1977 bicycle so not really early but early enough for some?

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

It's a small world, was it by coincidence or are you a Raleigh man through and through. I would love an SBDU frame. How do you find riding a Reynolds 753 frame? Would you say SBDU built some of the best frames in the UK? Or there are equally good frames made by others out there? Just...

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

Sorry for late reply..there are photos on here already...if you search Lejeune, its white and is shown in bits...I cant remember though what the the title of the post was...sorry. Other bad news...I forgot to weigh my forks and they are now attached to the frame whoops.

I hate to point this out but your cooker was made by Radiation New World!!! Really?

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

Would you say 40g is quite a big difference?

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

You could say that some of your frames and the cooker do have something in common...they're both been enamelled. 😁

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

I like the inside crown lug bit(? Mind gone blank...again) I have one similar with playing card symbols which was apparently all the rage in the 1970s? I like the colour to.

Also interesting comparison between both weights of frame and SL and c.

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

Very nice...don't know much if anything at all about Pennine but I'm sure I've seen them on eBay and FB market place. Soo many frames so little time. I like Denton's and Fred James to. I need a decent set of scales and your Salter ones, another old brand name I like the look of lol.

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

Thank you both for your info. It's always appreciated. I realise after carrying out more searches on this subject and there are lots of similar posts it's all a bit of a minefield. But all very interesting imo..

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

Thanks Grave. Not sure on the weight ratio thing? But I'm sure on Retrobike someone will have an opinion lol. It's just that if my frame is pre 1975 it can't be SL but it does fall within the weights specified at the beginning (1650g to 1800g). All the best.

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

Puzzling...to me anyway 😀. Oh well it is light but ignore the decals I guess.

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

Well this may be also be an issue. The frame is french and a Lejeune so has no frame number. I was informed by the other cyclist that the cable guides on the RGF bbs which are on the top and not on the bottom would then most likely make it pre 1975. It has a Velo Orange BB. I thought Reynolds...

    Reynolds 531sl or 531???

Hello I have been told that possibly my bicycle frame, which I believe has been repainted may not be what I thought it was regarding to the Reynolds steel used. On the forks and frame it has 531sl decals. So I have weighed (using mechanical bathroom scales) the frame without the forks then...
