Shimano 600 5/6 Speed Gear Shift Levers - ISSUES!!

Hello J69 Thanks for the reply. It initially did move the chain onto the smaller chain ring but now it wont move it back, there is no movement of any kind. If there are meant to be two clicks on the left lever there are none so maybe I can assume it does not work. I bought if off ebay...

Shimano 600 5/6 Speed Gear Shift Levers - ISSUES!!

Hello I have a set of the above levers on my down tube and the left lever which is the friction one will not change the small chain ring to the larger one and vice et versa. I had just picked it up from my LBS and was informed there was no click on the left hand side lever(?) Not sure what...

    Shimano 600 RD-6208...Spring Tension Issue.

Also now after inspecting the jockey wheels their dust cap covers have signs of wear (daylight is showing through!) on both of them and the wheels themselves look well worn. Is it possible to buy new replacements or is it a case of buying another 600 SIS rd and using it for parts?

    Shimano 600 RD-6208...Spring Tension Issue.

Thank you...Prior to removing the pin I liberally applied penetrating oil which has degreased the internal spring so I guess I need to regrease it. Is there a reason why my jockey wheels have a capital A on one and a capital B on the other? In hindsight I should of taken more notice when...

    Shimano 600 RD-6208...Spring Tension Issue.

Hello I have caused myself another problem... Wanting to give the RD a good clean I removed the jockey plate and the jockey wheels, etc unfortunately the tension/knuckle spring(?) does now not want to return to its original position as I do not have the strength or another pair of hands to...

Campagnolo Freewheel Hub (Slide On Cogs) & Shimano 600 SIS RD

A very beautiful bicycle, sometimes it's good to stand out from the crowd 😁. I do have a Columbus os el frame made by an Italian builder for Concorde. It's the best finished frame I have ever owned. I'm most impressed by the build quality. Thank you for taking the time to comment and help...

Campagnolo Freewheel Hub (Slide On Cogs) & Shimano 600 SIS RD

I must admit I do prefer the look rather than a bulky looking front but also I don't enjoy leaning too far forward as this causes problems for my back.

Campagnolo Freewheel Hub (Slide On Cogs) & Shimano 600 SIS RD

Hello I have bought a bicycle with a freewheel hub which is new to me as usually I have only ever had freewheel screw on cassettes. So the cogs I discovered individually slide on and off...they've probably been around for decades, I'm catching up very slowly lol. I would like to use my...
