Hello Bit disappointed today. I bought what was listed as a Dura Ace BB on ebay, I looked at the pictures closely but could not see writing on axle so my fault I took a gamble. Arrived today and its a Shimano 600 (EX?) bb so still good but not Dura Ace. Q. Any one know the differences...

I have taken my information from this forum and articles on the internet. I have read that 653 is 531C main frame and the stays are 753 and the forks are 531. But I then read a post that stated that the main frame is 531 PRO. I understood that 653 was a replacement for 531 PRO?

Very interesting read and thank you for your reply. I am 55 years old and not confident or competent at the moment with my own abilities but always willing to investigate a problem. I find some manuals very wordy and confusing so may when funds are sufficient find a basic bicycle maintenance...
