    Just finished this week, my 1954 racebike. Eroba from Echt, Limburg in The Netherlands. With a Simplex L.Juy 543 derailleur at the back and a Simplex Competition (suicide) at the front. Also from that brand the crankset. Tubular wheels. Kept the frame in orginal paint. The saddle will be changed...

    polish or patina?

    I only respray when it is really neccesary. I'd like it better to keep the original patina on an older frame. Only when it became too dull by polishing then I spray two layers of clear coat. Then the patina will save for a long time.

    I found exactly the same (Campagnolo) braze-ons on my Locomotief Tour de France bike of 1961. Not often used and already ahead for its time. :D
