These are more ment for them who do races. But indeed the tubulars of that brand for cyclo-cross as well as track are very special, and due to that ofcourse more expensive :) Nowadays business is done by a Dutchman, earlier a French manufactor...

I ride tubulars all my cycling-life. For more than 50 years now. Nothing wrong with them. In earlier days tehere were't such small clinchers. Nowadays there are. But nevetheless I ride both. I can repair tubulars myself. When stored correct, tubulars don't have disadvantages against clichers...

Re: Please, do not respray. :shock: Keep it how it is. Bikes of that age had a life behind them, which has to be respected. I like the patina. It is only one time original, you know. Andthat's now. I mostly do not respray, just polish and than spray with two layers of transparant paint :facepalm:

Framebuilder Bertus Slesker started with his brother in Amsterdam with the Locomotief bikes. In the late sixties he was invited to work with Gazelle in order to improve their race bikes in Dieren with his skills. He indeed was the man behind the famous Gazelle Champion models. He was still...

'Wett. ged.' is the Dutch abbreviation for 'legally deposited'. That last one is for the fender of the rear wheel. To make your collection complete :wink: , the Dieren version as well.

The Amsterdam type? There is also one with 'Dieren' on it, when Locomotiefs (later in the sixties) were made in the Gazelle factory.

Not sure yet. I am not that fond about respraying normally. When possible I leave it what it is. Including patina. :)
