I can vouch for tektro R559s. Don't be fooled by the price; they are every bit as good as higher end brands.

In case anyone comes across this thread, the bike was a Raleigh Sprint, with a 1985 date on the hubs. Spec was very basic indeed, sachs huret gears, steel rims, not even weinmann calipers fergodsake! I'm afraid the bike is no more, it has been sacrificed to the greater good of my Dawes Kingpin...

Thanks bulldog, let me know. As long as the bottom 2" is a fixed internal diameter, that's all that matters.

TBH I'm not sure if it would or not. 0.4mm is enough to potentially cause problems? Can I get back to you if I have no luck getting a 25.4?
