    Spooky Bandwagon Build

A few updates from my bike. Having managed to track down a new set of oil seals, and a new pair of bushings (plus some spares), I was able to rebuild my Z1s over the Christmas period and resolve the juddering under breaking I was experience. This was done through a combination of new bushings...

1998 Kona Lava Dome Resto Mod Project (Caldera P11 Onwards)

Re: The 1998 Kona Lava Dome Resto Mod Project It did really well from memory, it was the old manitou forks that gave up quickly! I was gutted when it got nicked.

1998 Kona Lava Dome Resto Mod Project (Caldera P11 Onwards)

Re: The 1998 Kona Lava Dome Resto Mod Project Looks lovely, I used to have a 98 cindercone that was built as a jump bike (!!). Bought back some memories looking at this.

    Spooky Bandwagon Build

Thanks, I am really please with how the build has turned out! It looks the part, and rides like a dream. I do need to urgently service the forks though, and hopefully I can keep them going! I am going to treat myself to a modern frame to sit alongside this, as whilst it is fun to thrash down...

Re: Spooky Bandwagon / Metalhead Rear Disc Mount Nice, I did think about trying to use on of those, but was skeptical about drilling the frame! I want a dropper post, going to buy one and have a friend turn it down to 26.8 lol

Sold Spooky Bandwagon / Metalhead Rear Disc Mount Brake Bracket

Re: Spooky Bandwagon / Metalhead Rear Disc Mount Excellent! it hasn’t been tried out on a Metalhead frame, but it should work as the hole spacings are the same on each frame. I always assumed the multiple holes were to allow for the chain tensioning required due to the horizontal dropouts.

Sold Spooky Bandwagon / Metalhead Rear Disc Mount Brake Bracket

Made you look! These are not the original mounts that came with the frames, but after struggling to source the originals I designed my own, had machined out of a lump of 6061 and have spent the last three months braking in joy around the Surrey Hills! After a small amount of interest generated...

Thanks, ah man, that's grim! I must have ruined so many cranks when I younger, forever trying to extend their life by cutting up coke cans lol

    Spooky Bandwagon Build

No real update to the build, the only thing I have done recently is ride about 300 miles on it since the was completed. I have added a narrow wide chain ring as I kept dropping the chain on the trails, and sourced a DMR chain cage which I am yet to fit. I'll post a few photos when I have done so.
