We've got a machine shop at work and Paul the machinist is very helpful - done a couple of seized seatposts too in a similar manner.

Wasn't any need to ream it - just offset drilling into the aluminium stem, gradually increasing the offset. As soon as enough material had been removed the stem remnants came loose and could be removed. Proper satisfying! In fact I have a peugeot frame with a stuck stem in line to do the same...

Finally got my act together earlier in the year and got this back on the road (after 18 months of neglect). The 90's cantis were proving troublesome to set up properly - and some broken plastic components pushed me into using the original cantis that came with the bike. First ride was OK...

It's to go on a Reg Harris road bike from the early sixties - so a Raleigh specific crown might not fit the styling - but if you have some pics I'd be interested to see them. Might do the job!

I've got a Carlton frame from the 70s that was apparently supplied in Eau De Nil as an option.......mines red (and really grotty) so quite tempted to respray it Eau De Nil. Tin of matched 7464c turned up yesterday and the match is pretty much spot on. Quite surprised how close it is...

Started to carefully remove the green over paint with some acetone and nail varnish remover pads to discover the original colorway and remnants of the decals.... Followed by careful use of soap-filled brillo pads to cut through the tarnished lacquer to reveal the original powder blue...

Nope - couldn't find much about Titan other than what's in this thread. Quite rare in this country as I think only sold on the continent. I think I read that the frames are Italian made and the sticker on the chainstay suggests it was sold in Germany by a company called RadSport Ruster. Shame...

Ha! No way - def. the same frame (got a cycloshite sticker on the downtube?). Shame it's been stripped of it's groupset as it was in really good original condition - regrettable sale as it's certainly a rare frame. Where are you based? (Just wondering how far it's travelled).

Certainly cool bikes - and well specc'd - looks like that one has a cool nineties smoke effect paint on the lighter bits of the frame? I sold mine last year as part of a cull of my collection and I quite regret it. Don't see many about that's for sure...... thanks for sharing. :)
