Help - will someone please stop me buying..................

Re: Help - will someone please stop me buying............... Disco td5 probably not bad as long as you don't mind constant faults and you might spend as much time on it as the retro bikes. I have a 2006 td5 defender which is in constant need of attention. A failed injector and a failed fuel...

    1990 Marin Eldridge 20.5" c-t £150

Re: 1990 Marin Eldridge 20.5" c-t "Yeah you will be fine on it" says the inner used car salesman in me. Seriously though, it will be too big for you, you want to be looking at a 17 or 18 inch mountain bike. My mrs is 5'6" and rides a 15" just to give you an idea of size and I'm 6'3" and...

    1990 Marin Eldridge 20.5" c-t £150

Re: 1990 Marin Eldridge 20.5" c-t Sorry Jon there's absolutely no offers at this price. The only 2 comparable Eldridges at this age that I know of have recently sold for £200 and £260. I won't sell for less than £185, if it doesn't sell in the next few week I will just hang onto it.

    1990 Marin Eldridge 20.5" c-t £150

Re: 1990 Marin Eldridge 20.5" c-t Yes, I know sorry. We live a mile down a track and couriers either cannot find us, or fall off the track and get stuck. We are nowhere near any courier depots either. I work outdoors so cannot have it collected from work. I'm limiting my customer base but...

    1990 Marin Eldridge 20.5" c-t £150

Re: 1990 Marin Eldridge 20.5" c-t Thanks Doug, it needs riding but I just cannot bring myself to damage it with zolatone paint being so difficult to replicate. My scabby rockhopper and Karakoram are more my thing.

    1992 GT Avalanche.

I have to admit that I have stuck some 2001 Easton ea50 monkey bars on mine which helped make it comfortable and somehow better balanced for a tall rider on an 18".

    1992 GT Avalanche.

The stem is a FlipFlop stem, it was designed to give 2 positions for riding, head down racey style or head up trail riding style. Not that the head up style can actually be described as up with the short head tube on these. My 92 Karakoram has the same stem.

    1990 Marin Eldridge 20.5" c-t £150

Finally for sale after much deliberation. I am the second owner having bought it from the original owner in 2008. It has not been ridden more than 100miles from new as a result there is still some of the anodising on the braking surfaces. The bike is original apart from grips and tyres which had...

    Yellow Clockwork

I don't remember the pink white clock works, from memory there were some pinkier prestiges. The yellow just looked like a sun bleached orange white. I can't tell you how horrid the green purple frame looked, though I seem to remember green and silver made an appearance too. A lot of the...

    Yellow Clockwork

Yes 'twas down Pellon Lane, top end not hooker end. It was the upstairs part of Bairstows sheet metal engineering which Steve wade owned. Bid away Mr Gingernut, as much as I would like it I haven't time to pick it up and the original style short head tube 19" is just too short for me...

    Yellow Clockwork

There were a lot of small batches of different colour schemes when I was there in 1990 and 1991. I remember a few yellow whites, there were also the matt orange frames as well and purple orange. All the faulty paint finishes (paint blebs and scratches) were stripped and powder coated either...

    Yellow Clockwork

You could be right with campy. A few campy bikes were built around this frames period. The pedals, and rear mech also look campy, but I could be wrong. Original ground controls on it I think as well and probably mavic m6cd rims

    1992 Tequila Sunrise GT Karkorams

Just picked this up and it's tidy for the money. Only, tyres, grips and saddle not original. Paint tidy apart from where previous owner touched up fork with orange paint. It has hardly been used judging by lack of wear and tear.

    92 Rockhopper Comp BB

Yep it's a 73mm shell on mine. If they had put in a 68mm b/b then it's likely that your non drive side crank will be closer to the frame than it should be as well.

    92 Rockhopper Comp BB

Is the bike wearing it's original chain set? My 1991 rockhopper comp has a Deore LX chainset and is on a 122.5mm bottom bracket axle. I cannot remember if its a 68 or 73mm shell width though.
