hi, I am thinking of converting one of my bikes to ss for commuting, so road and canal tow-paths, what size chain ring and cog would suit? I have read that generally for a mountain bike a ratio of 2:1 is advised but would this be appropriate for commuting or should I be looking at something...

photos attached, I paid £35 for it so would like that plus postage if required. As you can see usual marks/scratches/paint chips for a frame of this age, ans there is a small dent in the frame as highlighted in 1st photo but it is tiny and you can't really see it, just trying to as honest as...
