What were the grips of choice in 1995...?

The 1995 Orange E3 build I'm working on originally came with Grip-Shift X-Ray shifters and the corresponding shortened grip-shift grips... However... I'm fitting XT STI units to keep the groupset as XT as possible but what were the full length grips of choice in 1995... ? Thanks in advance...

Pace Forks / Chris King Headset Query...

Panic over... I removed the forks and everything looks normal... I must have misunderstood what bike shop dude was telling me. There's no play, the shim seems to be in place and the baseplate is a tight fit on the steerer near the crown.. Phew... Apologies... I should have stripped the fork...

Pace Forks / Chris King Headset Query...

Thanks for the input... I doubt Loctite will secure the part and if it moves when ridden it'll get trashed for sure... I'll measure up and contact jbd for a replacement thing... Ho-hum... Would have thought my local bike shop would have known better but at least they told me what they'd done...

Pace Forks / Chris King Headset Query...

Now then... For my first project I'm restoring an 1995 Orange E3 that I've owned from new. I had the Pace RC35 MXCD forks off and had them serviced by justbackdated who did a terrific job. On refitting them I noticed that the old Dia-Compe Aheadset was a bit pitted so looked around for a...

    Justbackdated's Feedback thread

Just had my RC35 MXCD's serviced by Tim... They feel as good as new... In fact they feel better than new with the "for the heavier rider" custom elastomer combo  Great service, great comms, fast turnaround and enjoyed our chats on the telephone :D

    Overbury's Pioneer Review 1988

Overbury's Pioneer Exage review from 1988 in what was probably the UK's first Mountain Bike magazine. This issue of Mountain Biker is actually pre issue 1 and was given away in Bicycle Magazine in around 1988 before Mountain Biker became it's own publication...
