Apart from a degrease of the drive chain and a soapy wash she’s all done. My sister loves the bike and is now on the road. We fitted a nice clean Selle San Marco Lady saddle, bars to my sisters liking along with some 80’s Weinmann levers and some new grips and brake cables.

Thanks guys, I feel more jokes are on the way after seeing Nobs product of choice. Gimp suit territory perhaps? Being honest, these tyres will not see too much action, especially anything too taxing for them. I thought they would look cool on my early 90’s Bio Racer which is purple ish.

I’ve heard that about petroleum based products, some have used coconut oil or cream. It’s been long debated before, I know. I won’t know if they are dry until I receive them, I’m just thinking ahead. They look OK though, here’s a pic. Thanks for your reply.

Is there anybody that knows what decade the STM Rapid seat post was introduced to the market? I have seen the same post listed as 50’s/60’s and also 80’s. The post in question is the rapid single bolt version and has the laurel wreath logo and not the triangle with a rams head in it. Any help...

The saddle is now sitting pretty on the Laprade post, which is now inserted into the frame to the minimum mark. The height will be fine tuned when the pedals are back on.
