    Early Ti Fat!!!

 Easy dudes...a little history here or something? Or perhaps a little cabin fever setting in? I'm not sure, but I don't think the bike is being sold by Scant. The pictures are fair - we've all seen worse but supersize and some better close ups would be nice for sure. I'd ask for...

    biopace on singlespeed?

Friends don't let friends ride Biopace - IMO. Ride fixed gear for a while so you're legs are loose and you spin a nice smooth circle.

89 Wicked w/ tiger stripe paint

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %26ps%3D54 It's a little rough, but I dig the tiger paint and the box crown fork.

    Why no love for Cannondale?

I remember them being somewhat prone to cracking, or a least that was the reputation I remember. Only one of my riding buddies back in the day had one...and yep it broke. In defense of the brand that is common in any light weight aluminium frame and is why I don't run the material. If you...

    Anyone running 1 x 9 gearing?

I put a 1x9 on set up on a Buck Shaver for my girl friend this summer. She rode the bike all season, all off road, and never had any issues. ENO front, SRAM XO out back w/ short cage and I ran the chain as short as possible to keep the slop to a minimum.

    What was your "retro epiphany"

I've been racing off road for 31 years having started BMX'ing in 1977 and my first mountain bike race in the early 80's on a 24" BMX cruizer. But I was not "old school" as I always kept up to date bikes, pretty much getting a brand new ride every year. Last year I dug this old Yo Eddy I had...

    What makes a Retrobiker?

For me it is nostalgia and also being different. Another thing is simplicity, easy maintenance and being able to buy the high end bikes I could not afford in my younger days. I don't think you can put bounderies on what is or what is not a retro biker other than you need to like and own old...

    "brand new" yo

I'm North East of you in Fort Collins. I've been down in Durango a number of times over the years as I did the Mountain Bike portion of the Iron Horse Classic every year for about 10 years until they went back to the road race only format. I remember seeing Juli Furtado, John Tolmac, Ned...

    Mountain Goat Fish Tank

Drooool.... Wow, I love that paint and the name of the bike is over the top cool. I cannot afford it right now, but I want it! I agree the saddle is an eye sore, and id' have to make a few other changes to make it mine, but the frame set is oh so nice.

    "brand new" yo

Great points made by all. I think when it comes down the the Somerville Fats your looking at collectability as the original Fat City, nostagia, soul... intangibles only each collector feels and is willing to pay for. I'd have to say the NY Fat's are closer to the Somerville bikes then a new IF...

Blue Ringle Threadless Stem 130 or 135 with 15 Degree rise

I need a 1" but would take 1 1/8 and use an adaptor. Looking for a pretty nice one as it would be a gift. Thanks!

    "brand new" yo

Are you kidding...a brand new Yo and it's the last s/m to be sold by Fat City. In the world of collectability the first and the last of anything are special. A new frame of similar quality will set you back close to $2K USD and you will be 1/2 as cool. If it was my size (it's not) and I was...
