Amazon Burner, Your '96 Amazon would have had '4130' Cromoly tubing, its the same frame as my '96 Equator, still have the sticker on mine. Had the bike from new, its was lower spec in the components than the amazon, but other than that & obviously the colour/name they were the same 'chassis'

Thanks, Yeah its a bit of an oddball. Its because it hinges in the middle. The BB is offset from the tube so the hole thing can swivel. I was suprised how well it rides & it weighs in at just under 15KG its no lightweight but I didn't think it was bad considering the extra bits for the foldy...
