1998 FSR Extreme - colour updated

Re: 1998 Specialized FSR (little update 4 and oh no....) Anything that has a 1 1/8th non tapered steer tube will work. Just make sure the steer tube is long enough. I went with a newer fox float on mine, but before I found it I was looking at judy xls as well. If you like those then you...

Very nice build. Just saw the S-Works version on campus the other day. Needless to say the owner is not taking care of it the way it should be :/

1999 Ground Control FSR Sport Build

Been lurking on here for a while and finally decided it's time to start a build thread. Now, keep in mind I'm currently a college student in my last semester so funds are a little short. When I bought the frame and went to look up the model I couldn't find any GC FSR that had the yellow S like...

It will fit. Honestly though I'd upgrade to something a little newer. Check out pinkbike and ebay. Not sure if you're looking for coil or air but you can get a 2006ish fox float for around 60 euro. You can even get a longer travel one with that link, I'm not sure of all the i2i specs on it...

165mm i2i and 38mm stroke. Looks like a 98 or so fox vanilla rx, has preload and rebound adjustments.

Made my own version of a chain stop tonight. Not the best looking but it was free since I already had the parts. Never use the granny ring and the chain kept jumping off so hopefully this helps.

Have had some down time since it's been too muddy to ride. Wrapped the chainstay and tried the DIY chain guide using an old reflector clamp with some rubber zipped to it. Works well on the street so far.

Finally got a new fork! My first air, fox float 130mm. I know it's not really retro, I was originally gonna get a judy xl or older bomber, but for the price I couldn't pass it up. Unbelievable difference from my crappy old manitou 80mm coil. It didn't stay clean for long :P...

    Dual crown fork

Im looking for a dual crown (triple clamp) fork. Must be regular qr dropouts and 1 1/8th steere that is around 195mm or longer. I prefer coil or coil with air assist, no elastomers. Really looking for something like a marzocchi bomber. Should go without saying that it must be in working order...

For those of you who repainted and added new decals, where did you get them made? Also, ideas for a good paint stripper that will get the job done so I don't have to wet sand much?
