    Avid Arch v-brakes

I just prefer the arch series vs. Shimano. It would be neat to use these in my retro build if the price is right. So, Supremes would be ok too, but I reckon that they are rarer. I have some Lx stuff lying around so that would be an option if all else fails. No Shimano parts is my goal, though.

    What's a good weight for a bike?

Yeah, we share a common interest. But it would be even nicer to know out of the box weight and then the ready to ride weight :). A friend of mine carries a lot! of stuff in his thigh pockets when riding. He is always carrying his laptop and all kind of tools for the bike etc. As his legs are...

    What's a good weight for a bike?

I would reckon that with retro bikes below 10 kg would be considered cool as these are steel beasts. It would be quite easy to shave some weight with modern components like carbon seatposts etc. but I don't see much point in that. The original components really makes these bikes look and feel...

    What's a good weight for a bike?

What about the rider weight and height? That's where it gets complicated. We have to know your body fat percentage etc. And if you are short you can use smaller and lighter frame. Limb shortening is an option to manage leg length up to 5 cm. Nevertheless, it's probably easier and cheaper to...

    Manitou sx ti steerer question

I was reading this and thought: this one is for Klein. I saw another one at the ebay auctions some time ago. The seller even mentioned in that auction that it will only work with spesific Klein models. Nevertheless, there was a lot of interest. In Finland we say "panna vahinko kiertämään"...

Re: 1992 Peugeot Safari CMO Sachs-Huret Maybe some local newspaper could publish this story and a picture of the bike? After all this is like the movie The Love Story for crying out loud.

    Work bikes

Here's my Iron Horse from the 90's. Last Summer I toured the Europe with it. Next month it's time to conquer Sweden and then a longer tour from Amsterdam to Bryssels. I had to change the LX-shifters as the old ones got jammed in the Finnish Winter and I got tired to service them every week...

Rock Shox or Sunn suspension fork

Thank you for the offer. I have never even seen that fork but I found some info: http://forums.mtbr.com/shocks-suspensio ... 64999.html I would prefer Obsys 55 or Obsys Hydraulique. At least I would know what to expect there :). Not to mention that it would complete my restoration of the bike.

    Sunn Vertik II '98

I'm a bit shocked too. btw. '99 Was a great year too as said. Sunn was doing its own thing. I had a 99 Xircuit Un. A very solid bike indeed. The flex suspension they used in some models was an interesting idea. Khs was using it too. But the finish used in this Vertik instead of a paint job...

Sunn Revolt Gp and Neuro Evolution rev. 1

Obsys Carbon is not bad. It works very well. But it needs a lot of care. Something a pro team easily manages with its pro mechanics etc. To a more casual rider that kind of maintenance is a lot to handle. But in those times weight meaned a lot and it was not unheard of to even use a conventional...
