    2001 Titus Switchblade

Did someone say Stans wheelset? eBay score: DT240s hubs and ZTR355 rims, also put an XT cassette on and rear is Pacenti Quasi-Moto 650b x 2.0 - PLENTY of clearance. Rides like before just FASTER - 27.3 pounds on the scale, shaved 1/4 pound versus the 26er setup with...

    2001 Titus Switchblade

Dug out an old (HEAVY!!!) 11-34 cassette and swapped rotors/skewers from the Crossmax wheelset...now full 650b with the 2.3 tires front and rear - no rubbing or bumping or contact with moving bits, have about 30 miles on it this way and it's a rocket and feels solid. Need to hang it on a scale...

    2001 Titus Switchblade

For thems that says you can't teach an old dog new tricks...the 650B added to the old Titus has RE-created a monster. Not as quick up the hill as the carbon 29er hardtail, but downhill in the rocky stuff it's the doggies danglies. Used to average 8MPH on my 10 mile loop, on the Superfly it's...

...looky what I got to fit... Yes Virginia, that's a 650b x 2.3 Neo Moto in front with room to spare... ...and amazingly also clears the rear stays although the "new" Neo Moto 2.1 would be the way to go in back. The XT hub/Velocity Blunt hub wheelset was a cheap ebay score and...

pics please - I have half a mind to try and convert the rear end to run the later TALAS Shock (on the fly 3.75-4.5-5.75 rear travel - boooiiiinnngggg) like your 2003 should have.

    2001 Titus Switchblade

One of the great all around trail bikes with the FSR-Horst design, light enough for XC but burly enough for all mountain/DH. I use the 4.5" rear kit with the TALAS at 100mm, but have the 5" links/shock for those times I feel ... the need. Not really a daily driver these days (since I got the...

Clunkers Unite - Vote for Alan Bonds

The Mountain Bike Hall of Fame ballots have been mailed - I may be biased but Alan's induction is long overdue. If you are a member (or former inductee) you can vote, it costs little to join. Alan's nomination (by Billy Savage) Pass it along 8)

    Yawn - another klunker

These drums can lock the front on the hill, even with the tiny Weinmann levers - Gary Fisher's record run was on an very similar setup. 52:31, and it shifts cleanly - Suntour Winner-6 wide ratio (13-32) cogs in back. Not so nice to the bank account LOL but yeah, he's a great guy and sorely...

    Yawn - another klunker

Picked this up recently in trade with Alan Bonds - crappy cell phone pic from my 6/5 ride (yes that's Mt Tam in background). "Bluebird" a 40-41 DX curved downtube with NOS Union drums and all the to kill for bits. full details from Alan's site

    Classic steel

Classic?!? Steel?!? ...SCHWINN! 1938 "B" frame with modern stuff... 1939 "DX" frame with mostly late 70s early 80s bomber bits... ...I may be biased or maybe need to adjust my chronometer from "classic" to "curmudgeon-ish" but if it aint PRE WAR STEEL...it aint REAL ;-)

    97 Breezer Twister

Beamers are nice - my mate Wilson has a 91 Otis Guy MTB beamer frame (they all shared the same bits from Alsop) that needs to be built up. The design is better for road duty, the rebound from the beam can toss you over the bars on a fast, rocky descent!

    97 Breezer Twister

The "Sweet Spot" version Breeze used rides great - it's almost a hard tail on the pedals and softens up in the saddle. Add the RP3 with pro pedal into the mix and it makes it even better. Well...Joe's Twister is really the prototype "Tornado" which was the top Breezer URT model in 1998 -...

    97 Breezer Twister

Recently sold the 97 Ignaz-X - got a fat offer and was barely riding it cause, well...it was only good for coffee runs and was too minty to mod for offroad duty… Less than a day later this popped up on craigslist - low price, short on description with no pics. I call and turns out know...
