It's indistinct, but I think the number is F82702.

Any ideas what this is and how old it is? I was told it might be 40s-ish and perhaps designed for an Osgear. Then again, someone else mentioned the 70s. Do the lugs and frame number convention ring any bells? Is anyone familiar with that "Special" on the stay and can it be associated with a...

Headset and head badge

No - it has what looks like Campagnolo dropouts with adjusters.

Sorry, I think that should be Roy Thane, or whoever took over Holdsworth in 1975.

The number corresponds to around 1974 before the Yates takeover - so early 70s - and the head badge is metal not a transfer.
