    Sintesi Hale-Bopp - 1997

Pretty much identical time to me! Although I was way to blinkered in the event to look at people/bikes/views 5:53:30 over the line..... again it was my first e2e, and only second event this year (planned more, its just not happened) My Sintesi is less retro now, with 2005 Fox Forks, jucy...

    Sintesi Hale-Bopp - 1997

Was my first time on the Isle, seemed a nice place would like to get back with time to look around at the Scenery. Wet, yes, but at least it wasn't falling from the sky! What time did you manage, I've struggled with fitness since I was ill for a month in May/June but managed a Finish & a...

    Sintesi Hale-Bopp - 1997

Hi, Yeah that was me, not that tall 5'9" and not as skinny as I needed to be for that course - lol, really quite unfit, and still sore! I think I saw the MrXC and did have a wander with the bike on the Prom on Sat.

Shout and I might be game for a ride :) Gisburn is fast at the moment, with dry conditions and the resurfaced climb. A lap took me 1:14, did 2.5 laps @ 1:30/lap pace the other day - was aiming for 3 laps to see if IO was fit enough to tackle the 47 mile Mary Townley loop - answer = not yet!

I live in the centre of it, and have done maybe 10 miles of it on my various recent exploring rides. I'd have a go at Easter if anybody was mad enough to try it with me? Im off from Easter Thursday (21st) till the 3rd. I think I'm only just fit enough, and the longest I've ridden is 5...

Sorry wasnt ignoring you with my earlier post, just on the phone and posted the link to the PDF. Ooops got confused, yes it was you that waved and shouted "see you when you catch me" Mark said he saw you at the feed station. I had the advantage on the second half of the lap after resting so...

Mixed emotions for me, glad I finished in the end, but did "retire" very early. Start was crazy up that hill, I knew the first singletrack would be a traffic jam so did make a good effort. First singletrack - snapped my chain as I turned onto it. Now having lost my pump the other week...

1991 National points racing action - classic!

Some familiar faces there :) I'm trying to think if I was there in youth class, but don't think so.

    Replace, Renew, Restore ...controversial !

Exactly :) When I've been repairing/sorting the bike the main thing is to make them fit for purpose but there are still other criteria. 1) Fit for purpose, including reliability. 2) Cost and availability (eg does a mate have an unused xxxx in his shed for cheap) 3) Does it go with the...

Blown the lever on the hope rear, just been out in the garage seeing what the score was, add fluid - watch it piss out of the lever :( Have a mate with a Hayes Sole I can borrow at least.

Still not shrugged off mine, and could feel it last night stopping me breathing and slowing me down.

Shook down the Sintesi last night, new bars and stem are much better, maybe a little too wide rather than the Orange bars that were a little too narrow (580mm vs 640mm). Riser bars have sorted the position, also got the seat position correct too. However I lost the rear brake, maybe it wasn't...

    Sintesi Hale-Bopp - 1997

Got that sorted, and new bars/stem position seems better. Testing tonight at Gisburn Forest, and with luck racing it at Whinlatter on Sunday. Weighed it too, I know the forks are heavy but was hoping it would be lighter than 28lbs that it weighed on our accurate postage scales at work :(
